How To Find Journeyman's Nook

The quickest and easiest way to reach Journeyman's Nook is to make your way to Winterhold, either by fast travelling or taking the cart for hire available at one of the various stable masters there for some pocket change. Once at Winterhold, take the road which leads out of the city, following it southeast until you come across Whistling Mine (not highlighted on the world map to the right but visible by the mine icon). From there just travel east and north slightly to reach the structure of the nook. Alternatively you can just head off the beaten path to the left when you start to approach the area.

Location and Item Info

The primary worth of this location comes in the form of the quest related items that are found within. There are also no nearby ores or harvestable ingredients in the surrounding area.

Upon entering the structure of Journeyman's Nook, you will encounter a single Bandit within you will need to take out, potentially also encountering a few outside. One your target is down, make sure to check the Knapsack by the campfire to retrieve one of the treasure maps for Skyrim treasure hunt, which is linked above, in addition to grabbing some leveled valuables.

On the opposite side of the room will be an Alchemy Table, some Barrels with Alchemy ingredients inside, various potions scattered about in the open and an Apothecary's Satchel on one of the crates next to a pair of said potions.

Finally, the last point of note will be the deceased mage in the room known as Borvir along with the unique weapon, Borvir's Dagger. Both are related to the Missing Apprentices side quest for the Winterhold College (Mage Guild) and won't necessarily have much use up until that time. (guide coming soon for that)
