You can then be able to get to Gilderoy Lockhart’s class, and will see him. This will start the level.

Chapter 6: The Basilisk

You will start out in the bathroom, a very popular level to begin at. There are a lot of things to shoot and get studs from. If you go in the corner to the right of the stalls, you can get a purple stud.

After you have found all the studs you can, go ahead and shoot the portrait on the left side of the room. A wizard will knock over some gray bricks, and they can be levitated and built into some stepping stones to also get a purple stud.

Ron’s rat Scabbers needs to go in through the pipe, and there will be a point in which the wizards will help Ron out by moving some pipe into place. Ron will then hit a switch, and this will cause Devil’s snare to ensnare one of the stalls.

Use Lumos on the stall, and you will save the Student in Peril.

You can then levitate an elbow of a pipe in the proper place. This will cause another outbreak of devil’s snare, which can be dispatched in the usual Lumos method.

To get Scabber’s further, the characters must use levitation on the pipe itself. When Scabbers hits the switch, the stall door under him will open. A frog will also go to a nearby cabinet.

Levitate the cabinet, and some stuff will fall out. This can be remade via levitation into a plunger device. Get on that plunger thing and go to the plugged toilet with a pumpkin in it. (What are these student in Hogwarts eating?)

This will give you all the parts to make a special door. There will be a snake door here, which means that you cannot access it unless you can speak Parseltongue (like Harry). Make sure you got all that you can get here and speak to the snake.

You will find yourself in a place with a lot of bones. You might notice that there are some bones you can levitate here. You can form them into Skeleton 1/4.

You then must keep going to the left, and by a half-pipe, you will find Skeleton 2/4. Use Lumos on the Devil’s snare in the way. You will then see a squid arise, but you must use the plunger to stop it. You will then find that some pieces will come up as the squid sinks. Use the pieces, and you can build yourself an elevator that another character can levitate.

Follow the path until you get to the end of it, and you can build Skeleton 3/4. This will put a stopper on a squid below, and create an upward geyser that will make it easier to get to the other side. Watch out for devil’s snare vine on the other side, and use levitation to make a bridge down below.

Jump down and grab as many studs as you can, watching out for devil’s snare in the tunnel with the squid. Skeleton 4/4 is there, and you should make it if you want to get the Red Crest Portion.

Go on and cross the bridge. There is a snake here that you can levitate, which works as an elevator. Go ahead and get in its mouth, and it will take you to a tunnel out.

You will now be facing the basilisk. To kill him you will be needing the strength potion. It requires the usual thorn, skeletal arm, and tooth.

Go to the right, and you will see an area filed with big stones. Go ahead and let the basilisk get a bead on you, and then let it attack. It will pause before it strikes, and you must be far away and jumping in order not to take damage when it hits. It will open up a tunnel that will have a snake door there. Have Harry speak in Parseltongue, and the thorn will be given.

The skeletal arm will be on the right as you will see a pile of big stones. The basilisk has to try to attack you there, and its attack will cause the stones to crumble. There will be one that will be covered by devil’s snare, and you will have to free it with Lumos. You will then have to levitate the stone, which will open it. A skeleton will come out, and will fall down, leaving its arm for you to put in the cauldron.

As for the tooth, go and run over to the left side of the room, where there are another pile of stones. You will need to let him get a bead on you, and then strike. You will then need to levitate a stone there, and a snake will pop out. Shoot the snake, and you will have the tooth for the cauldron.

Now that you have all the ingredients, go ahead and drink, and then run over to the left side of the room, where the chain is. Go ahead and pull on it, and the phoenix will come and peck out its eyes.

I found that you can hit the basilisk by targeting him. You can then earn some extra points here. On the left side, you can levitate some parts to make an accordion. This is Instrument 1/3. Go to the right side, and levitate a small trumpet that stands alone. This is Instrument 2/3. Keep going and levitate some parts to form a violin for Instrument 3/3. You can then get the Green Crest Portion if you want.

From there, it is about going back to the area that was revealed when you pulled the chain. Levitate one chain to attach to one area, and then levitate another chain on the other. Both you and Ginny and team levitate to bring the pipe down.

Jump through the pipe, you will literally be face-to-face with the basilisk. Go ahead and levitate the sorting hat, and you will find the sword there. You will have to wait until the basilisk is distracted by the phoenix, or else he will roar you away. With a little manipulation of levitation on the sword, you will stab him and end the level.

Now that you are finished, you should go to Part 14.
