**WIP** This guide is still being worked on, expect to see additional info and pictures until this message is removed.

Monk Class Achievements

All of the achievements for Diablo 3 contained on this page relate directly to playing through the game as the Monk class, performing special feats through the use of that class' abilities like dodging a series of attacks or keeping your spirit below max while killing a series of enemies along with ones granted for equipping his special class items.

Diablo 3 Character Class Achievements

Contents:

  1. Restoring Balance
  2. Servant of the Gods
  3. Enlightened One
  4. Grandmaster
  5. Champions of Ivgorod
  6. Secret Weapons of the Veradani
  7. Meditation
  8. Ambuscade from Seven Sides
  9. Like Water
  10. Spirited Away

The first four achievements pertaining to the four difficulties of Diablo 3 don't really have a need of any explanation considering it would just be redundant, thus they don't have any. :)

Restoring Balance

Complete Act IV with a Monk on Normal Difficulty.
Unlocks a sigil accent.

Servant of the Gods

Complete Act IV with a Monk on Nightmare Difficulty.

Enlightened One

Complete Act IV with a Monk on Hell Difficulty.

Grandmaster

Complete Act IV with a Monk on Inferno Difficulty.
Unlocks a banner sigil.

Champions of Ivgorod

Reach level 60 with 2 monks.

Part of the path towards the 10 level 60 characters achievement.

Secret Weapons of the Veradani

Equip a Spirit Stone and a Fist Weapon or Daibo at the same time.

You'll find these items as you progress through the first act on normal, or can purchase/craft them if you happen to be having an unlucky day. These are all the monks signature items that only it's class can use.

Meditation

Use Mantra skills to grant a beneficial effect to an ally 200 times.

You unlock your fist Mantra, Mantra of Evasion at level 19, after which this group of buffing abilities will become a staple in your combat routines. Since they pretty much all buff allies, just make sure you always have a follower or play in multi games and you will unlock this as you progress naturally.

Ambuscade from Seven Sides

Hit 7 enemies with one Seven-Sided Strike.
Unlocks a banner sigil.

This shouldn't be too difficult to eventually unlock by just making a habit of using the Seven Sided Strike ability whenever you can over the course of the game until the achievement pops, considering the ability hits random enemies 7 times. If it is taking a while and you find you're not hitting 7 targets even in large groups of enemies, try going to an are where they are weak enough that you know you can take them out with each hit, thus rendering a duplicate strike impossible, or use the Several Sided Strike rune to increase the hits to 9 and give you a better chance.

Like Water

Dodge 15 attacks in a row.

To some degree this is going to rely upon chance, however you can really boost your chance to dodge by doing the following. Take the passive skills The Guardian's Path (while dual wielding) to get +15% dodge and Sixth Sense to get 30% of your crit chance as dodge as well. From there, equip the Mantra of Evasion for another +15% (30% for 3 seconds after casting), use Cyclone Strike with the Wall of Wind as your focus skill (+20% dodge for 3 seconds after cast) and Dashing Strike as your technique with blinding speed rune (+20% dodge for 3 sec after cast). To top everything off, you can also use Blinding Flash with Searing Light rune (elites get 60% chance to miss) then find a bunch of elites to use it on while recasting your dodge increasing strikes and trying to keep them alive and hitting you as much as possible. This should give you the best possible chance of succeeding in this achievement (if not a bit over the top). Video coming soon.

Spirited Away

Kill 150 enemies without reaching maximum Spirit.

You can pull off this achievement with little difficulty as long as you can keep a keen eye on your spirit pool and make sure to expend it as much as possible. A video for this is on the way to, but this task is more about not getting distracted than anything else.

For Meditation it should be noted that Mantra of Conviction

doesn't count towards the achievement as it is the enemy(s) whom get a debuff instead of you and your allies that gets a buff.

For Spirited Away also make sure you are not close to leveling as that puts you back at full spirit

Managed to get Like Water by bringing my Level 60 Monk to Act 1 Weeping Hollow (via the Cemetery of the Forsaken waypoint). Stood in the middle of a bunch of zombies and left the game running for a while. Depends on your luck though. I also bought a bunch of high Dex items (130-180 for armor, 200+ for weapons) to increase my Dodge chance.

Would probably be too troublesome using all the active skills as one miss would reset the counter and you might end up killing the enemy/getting killed. Plus you would have to generate Spirit for the attacks too.

As for Meditation, if you're playing normally you'll get it eventually but I believe equipping two Mantras and changing back and forth counts (though probably not Conviction as mentioned above).

------------------------------------Spirited Away---------------------------------

Quest: Act IV - Fall of the High Heavens

Skills: Sweeping Wind [Firestorm Rune] - Exalted Soul [Passive]

Strategy;

1. Start the quest with 1/2 spirit.

2. Talk to Tyrael, enter "The Vestibule of Light" to face Iskatu

3. Activate "Sweeping Wind"

3. Iskatu will summon a seemingly unlimited number of Shadow Vermin, which you will want to kite around the edges of the room.

4. Turn around every 5 seconds and hit any Shadow Vermin once to refresh Sweeping Wind.

5. Be careful not to let Sweeping Wind hit Iskatu.*

* I would suggest increasing the difficulty to Nightmare if he is dying from accidental hits. Conversely, you could switch Sweeping Wind's rune to [Master of Wind], so that the AoE is smaller and you have to refresh less often.

i got an easy way to get "like water" achievement

Get to ACT 4 (normal if you want) 1st quest and on 1st boss that summons unlimited adds

here is what you have to do (with this passives active: "the guardians path", "sixth sense" and "chant of resonance")

-Use mantra of Evation before fight.

when the fight starts and a lot of adds start spawning close to you:

-Use Serenity(with Ascension rune)

-Then Mantra again

-then cyclone strike(wall of wind rune)

- and hit any add with "Fist of Thunder(lightning flash)"

And this way i got the achievement

Spirited away can be achieved easily in the beginning of the game, using the basic attack instead of a spirit generator.

For Spirited away:

1.- Get to 50ish level

2.- Equip Sweeping Wind with Fire Storm rune

3.- Go to ActIV first quest

4.- Start the fight by casting SW(FS)

5.- Let the SW do it's job and kill everything

6.- Attack to gain Spirit to cast SW again, once the boss is dead go outside and kill some more, you will get this Achievement in about 2mins
