Scavenger hunts are fun for children of all ages, even those who cannot read yet. For these young children, picture clues are the best way to go. When my daughter was about 3, I created a picture clues scavenger hunt for her. She totally enjoyed it and ever since then, it's become a yearly tradition for us to plan a scavenger hunt for her.

Below is a simple scavenger hunt, along with instructions. For a printable version of these picture clues, click here.

This dad not suit my childrens ages. Try this for 6 year olds and down. My children got bored of it and went upstairs to watch television instead of family bonding!

Caroline, I agree that this is not for older children. This is why I wrote that this scavenger hunt was best for children who cannot read yet and why I included the example of my 3-year-old daughter. This is definitely for younger children. However, I will be adding a printable hunt for older kids soon.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I had created one of my own for my older kids but wanted to have a way to include my pre-reader and these were perfect. I've shared a link here from my own post on scavenger and treasure hunts (http://wondermomwannabe.com/scavenger-and-treasure... because I know many moms of younger children will love it.
