Jesse Ventura's visit to New York City

Because I wasn't sure I would be able to obtain a Borders September 2000 event calendar for Governor Venture to autograph (and I didn't), I brought this item with me for him to sign - a printout of the cover of his book.

At the Borders book store at the former World Trade Center.

As a New York City area C-SPAN video crew member, I had the opportunity to meet, videotape and secure the autograph of former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura back on September 7, 2000, when he did a signing for his book, Do I Stand Alone? It took place at the Borders bookstore at the former World Trade Center site: the very same Borders which was destroyed the morning of September 11, 2001 during the collapse of the twin towers.

Because Ventura made world news headlines yesterday (January 24, 2011) with his lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration... " alleging full-body scans and pat-downs at airport checkpoints violate his right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures," I thought I would share the autograph I got from him with you. And more.

Enjoy.
