Super Mario Galaxy 2 Walkthrough Part 21: World S Prankster Comet Stars
Mario Squared Galaxy
Luigi's Purple Coin Chaos
This is a lot like a level in the first Super Mario Galaxy game.
This is about 2 minutes to get 100 purple coins. You have to do this with Cosmic Clones chase after you, and it is difficult.
The main part is not to gather all the tiles in front of you first. You will need them to get to the Star, which will appear right there. Instead, jump to the yellow area in front of you, and then go immediately right. You will do a long jump to a green tile, and then do a short jump to a yellow tile. You will then do a long jump, in which you must pick up coins as you are in the air. You then need to clear the green area of purple coins quickly, and then long jump back to where you were before. You will then need to run and long jump again, getting more coins in the air, and then take an immediate left.
You path needs to be fast and deliberate. You do not want to double-back on any time, or you might run into one of the Cosmic Clones. Get all of the purple coins, and work your way back to the area where you first came in. You should have your Star.
Rolling Coaster Galaxy
Purple Coins on the Rainbow Road
This one is all about getting 100 purple coins in about two minutes. Sadly, there is only 110, so you can't miss hardly any. Start by getting them all in this area for a grand total of 5.
You can get about 8 more on the rail slide here, so do it. That brings you up to 13.
You will then need to get 17 as you go on the slide down, and then you will have 30.
This one area will have some here, but getting them is difficult. There is about 13 total, and you will have a grand total of 43 before you go down the road.
As you go down the one slide, watch out for the girders. You hit one, and you'll be bounced off.
To be honest, I sort of lost track of how many I have to do here. However, you should be able to get there.
You really need 99 coins, as the coin in your ball counts when you make it to the end.
When you go over 100, there will be no timer, and you should be fine.
Go ahead and walk up to the robot, and talking to him will get you a star.
Twisty Trials Galaxy
Turning Turning Double Time
Okay, this one is like the other one, only faster!
I don't really see a reason to explain how to get through it. However, I found that you sort of have to move in two directions on this. The first is to move forward, the other is on the side, against where the thing you are on is spinning. That way, you can stay ahead of the turning, and don't fall victim to gravity.
One advantage is that you will have a Yoshi. Since he can stay hovering for a short time, it might be the edge that you need to get back on course should you happen to stumble.
There are numerous 1-UPs that you can get, and then you can get the Star.
Stone Cyclone Galaxy
Tox Box Speed Run
Okay, you only have 30 seconds to complete this. That isn't enough time, but there are ways for picking up more time.
First of all, get the first timer located where the first silver star was. You should then run to the Whomp, but don't bother going through all that stuff where you got to hit the ! button.
Instead, just make a long jump to the right and you will land on and area with a timer. Go straight from that area across the tiles that go around and get next timer.
From there, it is about following the path and staying clear. See the World S Normal Stars Guide for that.
Boss Blitz Galaxy
Throwback Throwdown Speed Run
This is just like before, but with five minutes. There are several ways to save time.
With Dino-Piranha, hit him four times in the tail quickly. You can do it in less than 10 seconds.
As for King Kaliente, make sure that you hit him with the green ball three times in a row. Do not miss, or you will add precious seconds to your time that you don't need! You might want to grab the Six-Life Mushroom on the other side, but that could waste valuable time.
Major Burrows can be taken out with three simple hits as we described the first time. Don't get hit by him, though, as it will slow you down (and you lose a life too). Make sure he chases you as soon as possible, and don't let him over take you!
You can then take out Bouldergeist. Just make sure you can do it quickly by hitting him twice with two black Boos when you can. Get him to raise his hands and really take him out quicker.
The last part, you will stop at a planet, but hurry and get to the Fiery Dino Piranha. Hit him four times, and you will be rewarded with the Star.
If you don't think you can defeat this level in the time allotted, just Exit to the Starship Mario and try again. That or lose a life.
Flip Out Galaxy
Cosmic Clone Wall Jumpers
Just like before, only don't let these Cosmic Clones get you. As I always say when dealing with Cosmic Clones, stay ahead of them and you will be fine, and do not double back on your path.
The hardest part will be at the end, where you have to pass those spiky areas.
