Updated on October 27, 2013

Cards Against Humanity has become one of the biggest surprise hits in the world of board and card games. A deceptively simple game in the vein of Apple to Apples, Cards Against Humanity has a real naughty streak and is definitely for adults. Just because it's for grown-ups hasn't hurt it's sales, though: quite the opposite, in fact. Perpetually sold out as soon as a new batch becomes available, Cards Against Humanity has become one of the hardest games to buy online.

First, what exactly IS Cards Against Humanity?

Cards Against Humanity is a card-based party game. There are no boards, no tokens, just the official cards and a bad of paper with a pen to keep track of the score.

Each round, one of the players takes on the role of a judge. That player will pick a black card with a simple thought or sentence that needs to be completed. Using a pool of white cards, the other players try to give the best (read: funniest) response to the black card. The judge will then choose what they consider the best response and the roll of judge will pass on to another player.

Sounds simple, right? Well, it is! What makes Cards Against Humanity so interesting is just how out there the cards can be. Just how out there can it get? Just take a look at the example to your right!

Where can you find Cards Against Humanity online?

Due to the massive popularity of CAH, every time the base game is printed, it sells out very quickly. Many people have an Amazon.com alert to let them know when the game is back in stock and rush to purchase it.

With that much pressure, where can you find Cards Against Humanity online?

Well, you can always stick to Amazon. CAH deals primarily through Amazon as their online retailer, but the official Cards Against Humanity store is often out of stock. Amazon seller looking to cash in on the rarity and popularity of the item often have Cards Against Humanity items available, but expect a significant markup.

If you're looking for an official copy of Cards Against Humanity and Amazon is not working, eBay is probably your best bet. There is often less markup. Of course, the ones at a fair price are typically used copies, so keep that in mind before buying.

Get Cards Against Humanity Online For Free

Cards Against Humanity kindly allows for you to download and print all of the cards to create a free version of the game. The game's website suggests taking it to a copy store and printing it out on cardstock and then cutting it to get better quality. Having done it myself, I can confirm that for about six dollars you can get this party game any time you want with minimal effort on your part.

The only downside? Any and all expansions to Cards Against Humanity aren't available as downloads and must be purchased. If you want to integrate these new cards with your original game, you're going to need to purchase the full version of the base game or your cards won't match!

It might not seem like a big deal, but it will be much easier to see who placed which cards when some are crisp clean production runs and others are lower quality.
