   What was the hardest video game you ever played?
   
   I feel like games are too easy now. Yeah they have achievements and amazing multiplayer in most instances to keep up replay-ability, I haven't played a game in a long time that I just COULD NOT BEAT. I would be happy to see some companies go back to the old "5 lives and 3 continues" method. I still get out the old NES and give a few titles that I NEVER beat the "old college try". So here are a few title that I personally have NEVER beat. Tell me what games you like that you have had trouble with or feel are impossible. New or Old!!

   I have had, and am still having, problems beating Fallout 3 for Xbox 360.  That game is so difficult that I have had to restart from the beginning about 4 times already.  I keep making the wrong decision on something and then getting stuck on a level I can't get through, and then end up having to start again.  You should try it out if you think new games are to easy.  Haha.  It's one hell of a challenge..

   The most difficult games I have ever played are the first Tomb Raider game and that old Tim Burton's planet of the apes game on the PC. I beat Tom Raider, but I never did beat that Planet of the apes game.

   TMNT for the NES was impossible! I always would get to a certain point and then rune out of lives. It's like they designed that game just to watch kids fail. Twenty years later that game still gives me a headache.

   Personally I don't mind that games are getting easier. If you think about it, video games were one of the only forms of entertainment that you couldn't finish. When you go to the movies, you expect to see the whole thing, and if you couldn't, you might demand your money back. That's how I feel about games, especially because I tend to play for the story more than anything else. So it is nice to be able to finish any game that I buy. Having said that, there have been a few games that I really couldn't get through. F-Zero GX (I think that's what it was called) on the gamecube. That was one of the least forgiving racing games I've ever played (just above star wars racer), which is a shame because it was a lot of fun. I never did finish it. Also Ninja Gaiden cut me off after the third or fourth level. I don't remember what was happening in the story, but it just kept sending wave after wave of guys at me and I never could push through it. I will also mention The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages. While it wasn't necessarily unforgiving, the puzzles in that game melted my brain. I beat it once and never looked back.
   
   Also, on a side note, if you're looking for a modern day game that is challenging, I hear that Dark Souls will kick anyone's butt.

   TMNT 1 is definitely one of the hardest NES games out there. I daresay Battletoads was the hardest I've come across. Ghosts & Goblins was always a tough one for me, too. Friday the 13th always got me by the second iteration of Jason. Ninja Gaiden should make the list, too.
