I remember my younger step-brother had a PC CD full of about 10 game demos. One of them a first person interactive style, back in the old days in England(?) It starts you out in a jail cell. There's another man in a cell next to you, and a grumpy jail keeper who likes to yell at you to shut up all the time when you bug him. I remember a few lines of dialogue, and one specific instance where you meet a friend outside your jail window who gives you a bottle of rum. Your three options of response are "Rum?" "Thank you" and "Wouldn't a pistol have been better?" or something like that.
