A detailed list of International or English Snooker rules.

Snooker will be played on a billiards table which is 6 feet by 12 feet with a playing area between the cushions of 11 feet 8.5 inches by 5 feet 10 inches; this can have a tolerance of plus or minus 0.5 inches. The height of the table will be measured from floor to top of the cushion rail on the table; this should be a height of 34 inches and can have a tolerance of plus or minus 0.5 inches.

Snooker will be played by 2 players at a time, who will aim to win by scoring a higher score than their opponent.

Scoring is on a points based system, there are two ways to score points, either by putting reds or colours or if the opponent fouls.

The aim of the game is to finish a frame with a higher score then your opponent.

1.       When a player legally pots a ball he is allowed to carry on until he fails to pot another.

2.       The player taking his shot from an initial visit to the table must hit a red ball first.

3.       The player must hit a red ball first before or colour or this will be a foul.
