NEW YORK (AP) — A 1961 Soviet space capsule is being auctioned in New York City.

The capsule was used on a test run for the spacecraft that carried the first man into outer space. Its pre-sale estimate is $2 million to $10 million. Sotheby's is offering it Tuesday on the 50th anniversary of the manned mission

I have submitted my bid. I’m sick and tired of this planet anyway… lol

I need a few more details before putting in my bid. Most importantly, I need to know its exact dimensions - I'm thinking of turning it into a nice little cocktail cabinet for my flat.

....it would make a modernistic art piece as a cocktail cabinet....big_smile
"The capsule's spherical cabin, no more than 2.5 metres (8 feet) in diameter and made of aluminium alloy, "

    ....and for a cool 2 to 10 million,,it's a steal!
