Mass Effect 3 Gain Bonus Powers from Companions

Mass Effect 3 Gain Bonus Powers from Companions

In Mass Effect 3, Shepard can gain bonus powers from his companions by repeatedly speaking to them, and showing that Shepard care in their emotional and physical wellbeing. The downside to this (for the renegade orientated Shepard) is that Shepard may gain some paragon points, which is the inevitable result of showing support for Shepard's companions. Shepard will also gain some reputation points for the support of his companions. Once the bonus powers are gained, head to the medi bay and select the bonus power that Shepard wants. Unfortunately, Shepard can only have one bonus power on at one time, and these need to be leveled up like the rest of the powers. This will illustrate how Shepard can gain bonus powers from his companions by using selected examples.

Mass Effect 3 Gain Liara's Bonus Power And Affection

Liara T'soni appears very early on in the game. Keep speaking to her repeatedly on first appearance, in her cabin on the Normandy and in Apollo cafe on the presidium commons at the citadel. Show emotional support and care in all the conversational options when talking to Liara. This is especially so at the Apollo Cafe when Liara's father appears at the cafe as a spy sent by the Asari to monitor her activities. Speak to Liara again, and tell her of the “spy”. Liara, being the new shadow broker, already knows. But she appreciates Shepard for looking after her. Shepard will gain the Warp Ammo bonus power.

To continue gaining Liara's affections and eventually romance Liara (or re-romance her for Shepards who have romanced Liara before in Mass Effect), continue this trend of talking to Liara. Eventually, Liara will send Shepard an email about a special project of hers. Invite Liara to Shepard's cabin on the Normandy, and Liara will show Shepard the special project – a time capsule. Later, Liara will invite Shepard to a quiet location on the presidium commons at the citadel. Speak to her in the same manner and be honest with her, and the romance between Liara and Shepard will be rekindled.

Mass Effect 3 Gain Bonus Power from Ashley Williams

Ashley Williams is one of the first companions to appear in the game. Later, she is injured and spends most of her time in the hospital in the early stages of mass effect 3. Speak to her repeatedly at the hospital. After persuading her at the cerberus citadel coup, head to the docks / holding bay area, and speak to her again, showing concern and support for her and her sister's loss. Shepard will gain Ashley's Marksman bonus power.

Mass Effect 3 Gain Bonus Power from Edi

Edi appears after the Normandy power outage problem. Speak to her on first appearance, in the pilots' cockpit and in the first set of citadel based mission at the Meridian market area in the presidium commons at the citadel. Show concern and guide Edi in her exploration of humanity's moral choices and Joker's advances. Eventually, Shepard will gain the bonus power Defense Matrix from Edi.

Mass Effect 3 Gain Bonus Power from James Vega

James Vega is also one of the first companions to appear in the game. Before the cure the genophage mission, speak to James repeatedly at the citadel and in the shuttle bay area, and spar with him. Use renegade options and triggers repeatedly and James will appreciate this. Eventually, Shepard will gain the bonus powers Fortification and Carnage from James.

Have fun interacting and exploring conversational options with other companions and see if Shepard can gain their (sometimes much coveted) bonus powers.
