Best Kids Peppa Pig Toys

Updated on March 16, 2011

Peppa Pig toys are incredibly popular with children and one of the best selling toys on the market today. The range is based upon a children's program that's aired on Nick.Jr and shown around much of the Western world.

Both the program and the toys are aimed at pre-schoolers and many are developed with imaginative play in mind - which is a wonderfully natural tool for any young child.

All children love to play and if given the right props - i.e. educational or imaginative toys - they will build upon their natural creativity, and the program and it's merchandise certainly allow for a child's creative development.

Peppa Pig Toys

Peppa Pig toys are designed to allow for interactive play. This stimulates a child to engage in a form of recreation that develops their ability to amuse themselves, interact with others, create stories and events and learn through play.

Peppa Pig is five years old, lives at home with her mommy, daddy and brother, George. She has a range of friends, all based upon other animals, and the series and DVD's follow Peppa having fun, learning and spending time with her family and friends - which is part of the program's charm and why it's so popular with small children.

Peppa has a life much like theirs.

Peppa Pig Figures

Peppa Pig

Peppa Pig figures are among the most popular of the toy range and most of the characters have been manufactured as either a TY Beanie or a plush toy.

The beanies are incredibly popular because they're pocket sized and most children manage to stuff them into their coat pockets and take them everywhere they go.

This enables them to settle down and have fun whether they're at home or on the move - which is always a plus with parents. A playing child is a happy child and when a child is happy ... so is mom!

The plush toys are a little bigger but deliver just as much fun and of course small children really don't care about having the biggest or the smallest - they just want Peppa.

Alternatively, her best friend Suzy Sheep or her brother, George, are just as popular ... in fact, most kids would be happy with any one of the other characters, though I suspect that Peppa is the favorite!

Children love to role-play and buying two or more of the characters simply offers a child more scope when they're playing. When you factor in the cost of the toys, plus their inevitable play value, they're an incredibly economic 'plaything'.

Peppa Pig DVD

A Peppa Pig DVD will do just nicely for most kids. Packed with lots of short stories, they're an extension of the TV series and great value for money. Unfortunately there's not many available in the US but this one will both delight and amuse pre-schoolers ... and parents!

Peppa Pig Playset

Each Peppa Pig playset is based upon a setting from the TV series. There's Peppa's home, school, different vehicles and even a palace. The larger playsets are designed for easy mobility and can be closed and carried around by a small child.

Most come with inclusive pieces of furniture, characters and so on. They're good value for money and sure to entertain and delight a young child. The school playset (for e.g.) comes with eight of Peppa Pig's friends and they're teacher, Ms. Gazelle.

Peppa Pig Board Books

Peppa Pig Bedding

There's even a couple of bedroom items - Peppa Pig Bedding and a night light. There's a version for both girls and boys, and they're adorned with the puddle-loving pig and most little girls that love her stories and adventures will be delighted to snuggle down with Peppa.

The night light is run on batteries and gives off a gentle, night-time glow. The batteries are rechargeable and the light can be detached from the base and used as a torch. A cool two-for-one deal!

There are other Peppa Pig toys that don't come under one particular heading. Besides a wider range of beanies and plushies than can be found here, there are also tableware, backpacks, bath playsets and more.

The tableware is a great incentive for fussy eaters, especially if they're a fan of the TV series. There's even a laptop for pre-schoolers, which features interactive learning - sure to aid the growth and development of your child.

Or, if you've an outdoor-loving little one, how about a Space Hopper? I remember how much fun I had with my bright orange one - many moons ago! - and it's sure to be a hit in the backyard.

Maybe a backpack? Kids love backpacks and they could be used for carrying their Peppa Pig toys around or even as a school bag. And if your child usually refuses to carry their own books and pencils ... maybe a little help from Peppa will do the trick!
