Skyrim Escape from Pelagius's Mind

Skyrim Escape from Pelagius's Mind

In Skyrim, the hero embarks on the Mind of Madness quest. Get the mind of madness quest from Dervenin who can be found wandering outside the Solitude catacombs and Hall of the Dead. The mind of madness quest involves the hero becoming trapped in the mind of a madman, namely Pelagius. This will guide the hero to do the necessary actions to escape from Pelagius's mind.

Skyrim Get Into Pelagius's Mind

In Skyrim, the hero must get into Pelagius's mind in order to escape from Pelagius's mind. To get into and get stuck in Pelagius's mind, the hero must get to the Blue Palace Pelagius wing. The Pelagius Wing of the Blue Palace is located to the southwest of Solitude beyond the Bards College. Enter the Blue Palace and speak to the maid Erdi who will be standing directly in front of the main entrance of the Blue Palace. Persuade her to let the hero have the keys to enter the Pelagius wing of the Blue Palace. Now enter the Pelagius wing of the Blue Palace and wander around the corridor until the hero is magically transported to Pelagius's mind and becomes stuck in Pelagius's mind.

Skyrim Get Out of Pelagius's Mind

In Skyrim, the hero must now escape from the mind of the madman Pelagius. No skyrim mind of madness quest can be complete without involving the Daedric Prince of Madness Sheogorath. Sheogorath "advises" the hero to go under the stone archways to solve the mini-quests beyond each archway to get out of Pelagius's mind.

Skyrim Mind of Madness Archway 1

In Skyrim, when the hero is facing Sheogorath, the archway to the left of the hero leads to a gladiator pit where Pelagius's minions are pitted against the hero's minions. Sheogorath has armed the hero with the Daedric artifact and staff of Madness, the Wabbajack. With the Wabbajack, the hero must solve each stage of the mind of madness mini-quests to escape from Pelagius's mind.

In this particular scenario, the hero may want to aim the Wabbajack at the gladiator pit minions and turn them into powerful monsters to win the match. However, this does not appear to work. What the the hero should do is to aim the Wabbajack at the spectators and turn them into wolves. Without meaningful spectators, Pelagius's mind stops playing the gladiators scenario and this part of the escape from Pelagius's mind quest is solved.

Skyrim Mind of Madness Archway 2

In Skyrim, the archway to the right of the hero when facing Sheogorath leads to a fight between the tiny being of Pelagius's confidence and the large being of Pelagius's anger. To solve this scenario, aim and fire the Wabbajack at Pelagius's confidence and make Pelagius's confidence larger two times. At the same time, the hero must make Pelagius's anger smaller by two times. Pelagius's self doubt will also enter the fight and attempt to confuse the hero. Continue to focus on aiming and firing the Wabbajack at Pelagius's confidence and anger until Pelagius's confidence is so overwhelming large compared to Pelagius's anger and this scenario will be solved.

Skyrim Mind of Madness Archway 3

In Skyrim, to finally escape from Pelagius's mind, the final archway behind Pelagius must be transversed. This will lead the hero to a sleeping Pelagius. The hero must aim and fire the Wabbajack at the sleeping Pelagius. This will initiate the appearance of a monster each time the Wabbajack is used on the sleeping Pelagius. Each time, the hero must aim and fire at the monsters, turning them into docile or harmless creatures. Once this is done about five times and all the monsters have been vanquished, Pelagius will wake up.
