Viewtiful Joe 3

Viewtiful Joe 3

DISCLAIMER: THIS HUB IS JUST FOR FUN, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT VIEWTIFUL JOE 3 WILL EVER BE MADE, OR IF ANY OF THESE IDEAS WILL BE IN IT. ENJOY!

The world of Viewtiful Joe revolves around a movie-loving, goatee sporting, regular guy named Joe who turns into a superhero with the help of a V-Watch. His powers are all based around camera tricks, such as Mach Speed, Slow and Zoom.

The Viewtiful Joe series spawned four video games and an 8-season anime in its hayday. Unfortunately, the company behind the series, Clover Studios, was dissolved in 2006. Joe's most recent appearance since then was in 2010s Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars as a playable character.

So in honor of this undeniably awesome franchise (and in hopes that this game will actually be made), I present to you this fan-made Hub of ideas for Viewtiful Joe 3.

Again, this Hub is just meant to be enjoyed by fans and newcomers alike.

Story

It would be cool if Viewtiful Joe 3's story had something to do with the 3D craze that seems to be the trend with movies nowadays.

Even though the theme of Viewtiful Joe 3 is going 3D, it should still play like a 2D platformer.

In Viewtiful Joe 3, our hero and his friends are hard at work filming Joe's first movie in 3D!

But while shooting the opening scene, a group of bad guys called "The Grey Avengers" appear to sabotage the film!

They threaten to make the make the movie so bad that it gets released straight-to-video!

Our viewtiful hero can't allow this to happen, so he teams up with his girlfriend Silvia, and his sister Jasmine to take on the new threat and save the silver screen, yet again!

Curiously, it seems their leader's name is Jasper, and he seems knows an awful lot about Joe, Silvia, Jasmine and Captain Blue...

Jasmine, Joe's sister, should be playable in Viewtiful Joe 3, with new VFX powers as well!

New VFX Powers

In Viewtiful Joe 3, Jasmine finally gets a V-Watch of her very own. Her "Henshin" alter-ego is Radical Jasmine, and she has 3 brand new VFX powers to help shake things up:

3D – Makes objects in the background pop out to damage enemies, solve puzzles or do other crazy things. Things that can be made 3D will have a red-blue-green haze around them .

Freeze Frame – A snapshot around Jasmine is taken; anything caught in that area is frozen in place for as long as the button is held. This can be used to escape mob attacks, to use frozen enemies as stepping stones, or to get in a few cheap hits while the effect lasts!

Stunt Double – A hologram is created in front Jasmine as long as the button is held. The double can be used to pass through walls, bypass enemy shields and to absorb damage headed her way!

Levels

Viewtiful Joe 3 takes our heroes through several new levels, parodying several popular movies.

Movieland, the fictional world of the movies where the games take place, is the backdrop for Viewtiful Joe 3. This time, each of the 7 new levels are is based off of an actual, real-world movie:

Pirates of the Deleted Scene - Rid the seas of the notorious pirates who are being led by Blade Master Alastor!

The Were-Script Project - Fight through a haunted house while facing werewolves, vampires and other creatures of the night!

Stuntmen in Black - Infiltrate the enemy skyscraper while fending off the three-piece wearing, combo-launching security!

The Good, The Bad and The Viewtiful - Defend the dusty town in the Old West from being overrun by outlaws!

Roboprop III - Destroy all the defective robots in the factory!

Starship Bloopers - Ride Six Machine through outer space and defeat the incoming alien threat!

All Films Go to Credits - The last level, and also the oldest place in Movieland. A place entierly in black-in-white, it is also The Grey Avengers HQ. Defeat them once and for all!

Conclusion

Viewtiful Joe 3 has a lot to live up to, but based on how great the first two games were, there's no question it will be amazing.

And that concludes this Hub on Viewtiful Joe 3. When I first got introduced to the games, I loved ever minute of it. I just hope Capcom makes another one, because VJ is too cool to just let die!

I know that the games didn't sell as well as they should off, so maybe in Viewtiful Joe 3 they could include more extras, like a multiplayer mode (i.e. Red Hot Rumble), some kind of challenges / achievements, and a harder difficulty where if you take one hit you die (Director's Cut?)

Anyway, I hope you liked the Hub. Feel free to contribute in the comments section.

The Grey Avengers must be stopped! Trying to make Viewtiful's movie so bad that it gets released to video early - what a terrible thing to do to a filmaker!

I tried to think of the worst thing that could happen to a movie, and going straight-to-video just about sums that up, lol.

You have really hit this one on the head. I have waited for

years for VJ3. You forgot one thing though: the storyline in the anime series has an enemy called Evil King as the grand villan. Check Youtube for Viewtiful Joe, Episode 52.

That will be the final boss.

I was kinda basing the ideas off of the storyline in the video games, but they did have Sprocket in Red Hot Rumble, so who knows? Either way, I hope Viewtiful Joe 3 happens.

Hideki Kamiya said something about wanting to finish the series. However, he lost his IP (Intellectual Property) rights to Capcom. I wish he could get them back. Capcom shouldn't have left the series incomplete. BTW, I learned about the series' ending. Evil King's motives were to control humanity through unhappy endings in the movies and cover the world in darkness. He was stopped and defeated by the power of a "white film." I hope that gives you some inspiration.

Sorry if this message has some line breaks (still getting the hang of this website).

I read about that on 1up. It's good to see that Viewtiful Joe won't die off, but I wonder how authentic a sequel will be when the main person behind the franchise no longer calls the shots.

And where did the Evil King come from? I never caught the anime when it was on TV, so I'm kind of lost about what happens after the series stopped following the games.

J-Dog 6 years ago

Well, I think Evil King was hidden inside a black film in the warehouse Jet entered. I don't know what happens inbetween (since the episodes aren't uploaded onto Youtube). I think he feeds of the negative energy Jet creates by ruining movies and later escapes Movieland like King Blue tried to. I think Evil King doesn't appear until the second-to-last episode. I do know he pulled a stunt where he took the power of the Henshin away for a while.

I don't know much else, other than the fact the android Rachel is supposed to get emotions and human feelings. One idea to think of, though. What if Fire Leo and Frost Tiger had a father? I've got a full set of ideas runnning through my head.

That sounds a lot like what happens in Viewtiful Joe 2, with the black film and all. I'm gonna really have to catch the anime and watch it all the way through, because I'm missed out on, well, all of it lol.

I think that's an EPIC idea for Viewtiful Joe 3 to feature Fire Leo and Frost Tiger's father! That would rock pretty hard...I would say make him a Liger (the offspring of a lion and tiger), but they can't reproduce so it'd be hard to explain why he has kids, haha. But that's a banging idea...

J-Dog 6 years ago

Thanks! I needed an idea for them! Sadly, we can't use lightning, (Lightning Liger) since Alastor uses thunder attacks. There were also rumors of a boar-like enemy. I can't post much (limited Internet coverage), but I think I could get a good discussion going.

However, I have a very cool idea in mind. Remember the Mecha Harrier Jets in Viewtiful Joe 2? I was thinking Black Thunder could transform and use helicopter swords. Better yet, a combiner force! I'm glad I can get these ideas out.

Maybe Hideki Kamiya will see them and we'll get lucky.

I can't think of an element for him either. Maybe a combination of fire and ice...?

Those rumors of a boar-like enemy, were they for Viewtiful Joe 3? I wonder where they would have gone with that idea....

Those all sound like good ideas. I hope someone from Capcom stumbles on this page, we're doing all the work for them lol.

J-Dog 6 years ago

Well, I remember Twinrova from Ocarina of Time. It's a strange idea, really. I guess we get to figure it out for ourselves. The boar is actually an enemy I saw in concept art on a website. He looks beastly.

I think this link shows it:

http://cdn.totalvideogames.com/img/uploaded/www.to...

He's not the Evil King, since the king looks like a demon from the anime.

MistHaven profile image

MistHaven 6 years ago from New Jersey Author

That's crazy, because I was picturing Twinrova too! Kinda scary lol. Or he could have an entirely different power like wind or something.

Thanks for bringing that artwork to my attention, I've never seen that before. He does look like a good design, though.

J-Dog 6 years ago

I found that by luck when I though they were still trying to make it. I showed that because it may be the only thing from VJ3 we'll ever see. I'll try to find one of the Evil King. Personally, I think if we can think up this much, there's no reason for them not to make a third one. Now if only they could get Megaman X9...

MistHaven 6 years ago from New Jersey Author

I still think Capcom is going to make Viewtiful Joe 3. It's obvious there is an audience for it if the series lasted 4 games and an anime.

I'm still waiting on MMX9 too, but I read somewhere that they feel the X series isn't that profitable, which is why they haven't made another entry in it yet. But hopefully they have a change of heart.

J-Dog 6 years ago

I hope so. Capcom has a knack for holding out on us. Clover Studios shut down, and the development team for Viewtiful Joe went away. I also think its because hardcore gamers aren't around as much. It's funny how nobody cares about the plot; MMX 1-8 VJ 1 and 2 had excellent plots. It's not good to leave a story unfinished. Still, I wonder how many bosses we could think of.

Alastor's mech, Rex Majin might have a super mode like Six-Six Majin (combined with a giant spaceship) that could be the last fight he ever has with Joe.

MistHaven profile image

MistHaven 6 years ago from New Jersey Author

Hardcore gamers are coming up short. Video games now are so easy compared to the ones that first came out.

I definitely want to see the story evolve into Viewtiful Joe 3. As far as bosses, we know there are at least 4 animal themed bosses. Including Fire Leo's dad, that leaves 3 more open slots.

I like the idea of Rex Majin having a super mode, but I don't think that will be the last time Alastor and Joe face off. He's the archenemy, and way too cool to cop out!

J-Dog 6 years ago

Agreed: I think he'll never go down.

Now, there are a few other strange characters:

When I looked at the anime, there was a turtle-themed enemy who played soccer (ep 30). There was also a race-themed one with a stoplight head (ep 32)

Some of the others were extremely weird.

And this is our ultimate enemy: the Evil King.

If there is a viewtiful joe 3 i would like to see kinda of a flash back option when o i don't know jet black goes back to the levels in the first VJ game to stop a new enemy. I defenetly want to be able to play as other characters again like in viewtiful joe 1 (I'm still trying to unlock Blade Master Alastor).

MistHaven profile image

MistHaven 6 years ago from New Jersey Author

@J-Dog: A turtle that plays soccer?! That's so random lol, but that's VJ for you. I'll wikipedia Evil King to get up to speed on him.

@sil: Flashback featuring Jet for Viewtiful Joe 3 sounds like a pretty good idea...I completely forgot about the old man. And good luck with VJ 1, I erased my file but I think I had Dante and Silva unlocked before that.

THEY NEED TO INCLUDE CAPTAIN BLUE JR OF COURSE!

Right on. Can't forget about him!

SoraPRiME 5 years ago

They really need to make a Viewtiful Joe 3. I would buy it the first day it's out.

J-Dog 5 years ago

Strange to think I dropped in almost a year ago and had a discussion about this. I'll keep hoping for a sequel. If not, I wish to start a career towards making videogames. Capcom has to shift people's attention away from weak games and make hardcore popular again!

Viewtiful MegaX 5 years ago

I'm currently making a Viewtiful Joe Fan Game, and I could use help! Mind if I step in and make it? I'll take that as a yes!

I meant a no!
