A Growing Community

Although making money is a great perk, there's much more to the HubPages experience than that. If you ask our authors why they love writing on HubPages, a majority of them quickly credit our community as what they value more than anything else. As of this writing there are 80,000+ Hubbers writing, socializing, and creating real relationships with each other on a daily basis. This strong sense of community is one of the things that really sets us apart from any other place to write online. This section will give you a better feel for the type of community that we have and what to expect here on HubPages.

The elements of a great HubPages community

Being part of a community is something that many people are searching for online, but it can be hard to find a site that really speaks to that value. So, to help you determine whether or not HubPages has what you're looking for, we figured that we'd help you out by listing a few of the things that makes HubPages community so unique and exciting (at least we think so).

• 80,000+ published authors and growing: I know that numbers aren't everything, but I do think the fact that we have a large group of authors says a lot about the quality community that we have here at HubPages.
• 400,000+ published Hubs: OK, last number I promise, but I had to let you all know that we have had over 400,000 Hubs published since we launched in 2006 and more 40,000 were published in the last month. As you can tell, our authors are becoming more numerous and more active by the day, which will continue to make the HubPages community strong far into the future.
• Anyone can write on HubPages: One of the greatest things about the HubPages community and what makes the authors so interesting is the fact that you can literally write about anything you want. Do you like cars? Write about that. Know all about raising children? You can write about that, too. Passionate about making healthy food? Well, then you can write about the recipes that you've come up with. As long as you write in English and aren't posting adult content, you're free to publish about almost any topic you want.
• We're here to help you be successful: Whether it's a HubPages team member or fellow Hubber who offers a helping hand, many here are willing to give their time to help you become a successful author. Sometimes it's new features that we release to make your writing experience more efficient, sometimes it's a another Hubber answering one of your questions in the Forums or perhaps it's , our uber-awesome community manager helping you figure out why your Hub isn't performing like you want it to.
• We have a lot of fun: Even though we are all very serious about writing great Hubs and helping each other out, Hubbers still finds plenty of time to have some fun. If all we ever did was help people make some extra money, but we didn't provide them anything beyond that, there's no way that we would have gotten to where we are today. All of us here at HubPages are strongly invested in making sure that this is a place where people will enjoy writing and we would never want to compromise that. Our community is very important to us and we're going to continue to make sure that it stays fun, helpful and full of amazing authors.

Socialize and get your content read

Being part of the HubPages community allows you to easily publish your content and gives it the chance to be read both by other Hubbers and the millions of outside readers that visit HubPages each month. As Larry wrote in our blog, when you publish something here, your content has a better chance of being read than if you were to publish it on many other popular sites. And whether your Hubs are getting read by Hubbers or outside visitors, it's always great when someone checks out your stuff. As you begin to meet other Hubbers, answer Questions, gain fans and chat in the Forums you will find that over time more and more people are reading your Hubs.
