Knowing this is the first step to getting on the right track with your diet. There are many free calorie counting tools available on the Internet, just do a quick Google search and your well on your way! Remember that any diet plan should fulfill all of your bodies requirements for proper nutrition. Make the change to your lifestyle and the fat burning and weight loss will soon follow suit. Trust ME! For those reading this now who just don't know where to start off I highly recommend the following website http://www.acaloriecounter.com/diet-guide.php

Tip # 4 Run, Run, and Run Some More

One of the greatest exercises for weight loss of all time is running. Yes, I know it seems like an almost obvious thing;but don't let that stop you from doing it. Running has many great benefits for your body and mind. Running for at least 30 minutes a day on a REGULAR basis will surly allow you to see great results. Plus, you might be surprised to see some mental benefits such as higher focus at work as an added benefit. Tip # 3 Weight Training

Despite popular stereotypes of big muscle heads with small brains and huge lats going to gyms; there are several aspects of weight lifting that will help you tone down and lose fat at the same time. The general rule of thumb for people lifting for fat loss and definition is more reps and sets at lower weights. Using a high intensity, fast moving workout regimen one can achieve amazing results with lifting for fat loss. Combine this with eating healthy and running regularly, and you quickly get to your desired body image. This is a great community of enthusiasts and beginners alike that I would recommend anyone who is beginning to lift to pay a visit to http://forum.bodybuilding.com/

Tip # 2 Sleep

Yes I know what your thinking, how could sleep possibly help you burn fat? Well you should get the concept drilled into you head that a good 7-8 hours of sleep does in fact have a direct link to you body weight. Sleeping inhibits and promotes certain chemicals in the body that are directly related to hunger. The following article gets into more detail about this and I highly suggest giving it a read http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/lose-weight-while-sleeping

Delving a little farther into the benefits of sleep, it is vitally important to get enough rest for you body to properly build muscle and get rid of fat. Any weight lifting enthusiast will tell you that sleep is one of the most important parts of the whole process. You don't magically get stronger and more toned right after a hard workout, you actually get the most benefits during the night after the workout as long as your zonked out that is. The same can be said for running, and any other weight loss exercises as well.

Tip # 1 Consistancy

Consistency is without a doubt, the most important factor in any weight loss plan. This is because no matter how well you plan or what exact diet and exercise regimen you decide to use, it doesn't mean diddly winks if cant follow it. Fat loss is all about the lifestyle choice, and there is really no way to get your desired results without putting some time and energy into it. Just don't burn yourself out by overdoing it. Like most aspects of life, a comfortable equilibrium between laziness and the extreme effort must be found. Make sure to keep this in the back of your head as your planning for your new, thinner, life.

Lots of good information. You are so right calories and counting them is what counts the most. I can only take small walks but I think even that helps. Voted uP!

Great hub, I especially like the part about running. I lost about 15 pounds in a month from running alone, without significantly changing my diet.

I am glad you enjoyed my hub. Running is often a overlooked but very effective method of fat loss. Many times people want results without having to put in the effort;people who think this way tend to never really give running the chance that it truly deserves. Thank you very much for your comment.

Great hub. I've been working out at a gym 5 days a week--aerobic and weight training. I've thought about running a little now and then to accelerate things, but I have always hated running. Maybe this will inspire me to add in at least ten minutes of it to try! Sharing this hub. Maybe it will motivate some people!

I'm glad you liked the hub. Being perfectly hounest with you I have a hard time with running as well. My knees are pretty messed up from playing football for way to many years :). I would recommend doing high intensity interval training if you don't long drawn out runs. Basically it's a bunh of high intensity sprints mixed in with a small amount of running. If you would like to know more I can always write a hub about it.

This Hub really stands out for me and I have been walking for 1 hour every day for 3 months, I got down to 136, but peanut butter and crackers have added two pounds back. I am not running yet but walking as fast as I can. I got shin splints for a few days and had to slow down. Thanks for a great Hub that keeps it simple for all of us who have time to read hubs and need this information
