MANAGING STRESS

How many of us have been stressed out? Yes, we all have. Stress can lead to serious complications such as a heart attack or depression. It is very important to know how to manage your stress levels when they rise. I wanted to give you some tips on how to control them.

  1. DON'T STRESS ABOUT WHAT CAN'T BE CHANGED- If you think about this, it covers many things. Look, if you are stressing about a situation that can't be changed, it serves no purpose. For example, your phone is getting cut off and you have no way to pay for it. Even though stress will be felt, what can you do about it? If you have tried everything that you can and it still is getting cut off, forget about it. We can't change the unchangeable. Point blank. Quit stressing out on what we can't change. It is what it is. Stress can cause chest pains, strokes, depressions, and many other things. If we can't do anything about the situation, quit stressing. It is unhealthy. It may be hard if it concerns something like a death, but it doesn't do any good to stress yourself. What is will be.
  2. COOLING DOWN- Maybe you have been in an argument of some type. Your best weapon is walking away and cooling off. Your brain reacts for only a few seconds to anger. The rest of the time it is caused by yourself. We all say things that we don't mean. It could be that situation this time. Walk away and cool off.
  3. WALKING- If you are stressed out, go for a walk. I walk and talk to God. You can always go and talk to him. The main point is to gather your composure and begin thinking clearly again. When we are stressed, we don't think clearly. Go enjoy nature and walk to get your mind off whatever is making your stressed out.
  4. TALKING TO SOMEONE- You may want to talk to someone about why you are dealing with stress. It does help to release are problems and have someone listen to us, even if it is only to vent. Being able to release this from our mind can be self soothing. It is always good to do this with a best friend or someone that understands what we are going through.
  5. LETTING GO- How many times have we put stress upon our self by not letting go or not controlling a certain situation? We all hold grudges, memories, and pain within ourselves. We have to learn how to let these things go. We all have stress and we probably always will. But if we can learn how to adapt to it and control it from effecting us, we will become healthier for it. You have to find your own special way of dealing with stress. We all are different and stress effects us all differently. Learn what works for you and apply it.
