46 Trillion - 100 Trillion Reasons to Eat Clean, Healthy, Optimal Nutrition

Depending on who you ask and which sources you check, we are made up of between 46 to 68 trillion cells. Some sources say our bodies are made up of 100 trillion cells. Based on these figures, even with the variance, it is a staggering number. We truly are awesomely and wonderfully made.

This brings to mind an analogy I have always found both amusing and compelling. In answer to those who believe our complex and marvelous bodies simply evolved without creative design, Hoyle gave us a vivid comparison.

Sir Fred Hoyle (1915-2001) was an Astronomer who, through statistical analysis, rejected the Big Bang theory of evolution. He looked at our body’s building blocks of proteins, the sophisticated arrangement of amino acids, the elegant order of enzymes, the remarkable functioning of our cells. While all these elements can be found in nature, the intricate and functional design is something else again.

The chances of our wonderfully made bodies simply evolving, without having been designed with forethought, are comparable to this marvelous analogy. Hoyle wrote,

“.... A junkyard contains all the bits and pieces of a Boeing 747, dismembered and in disarray. A whirlwind happens to blow through the yard. What is the chance that after its passage a fully assembled 747, ready to fly, will be found standing there? So small as to be negligible, even if a tornado were to blow through enough junkyards to fill the whole Universe."

For purposes here, it doesn’t really matter if we are evolutionists or creationists, a combination of the two, or something else. It doesn’t matter if we are undecided, adamant or simply don’t care. Webster’s defines negligible as, “Unworthy of consideration: insignificant.”

This is one of the best, short videos I've seen on toxicity.

What does matter, and what is worthy of our consideration is that we are here and our bodies are comprised of many trillions of cells which have certain, specific requirements which need to be met, if our amazing bodies are going to function as well as they can.

It doesn’t really matter if you have a 747, a Hyundai or a Ferrari. If you put sugar in the gas tank you are going to ruin the engine. In his book, Why Diets Are Failing Us, Peter Greenlaw explains the importance of our cells’ functioning from a health standpoint. And optimal functioning largely depends upon removing toxins from our systems as well as providing essential nutrients.

Detoxifying our bodies at the cellular level is important for many reasons. And unlike harsh cleanses that work mainly in our colons and can easily deplete us of nutrients and fluids, a cellular cleanse is gentle and rather than depleting our bodies, it replenishes us. Having been described as similar to taking a shower on the inside, a cellular cleanse of all natural botanicals with cleansing and nourishing qualities, taken as a dietary supplement, has multiple benefits.

As Greenlaw explains, our liver is the main detoxifying organ within our bodies. It takes various fat-soluble toxins in the body and excretes them through our urine. Certain amino acids can help facilitate this process.

We also need antioxidant protection, because we are exposed to lots of free radicals which damage our cells. Antioxidants fight free radical damage. Cleansing our bodies of impurities while also replenishing them with clean, optimal nutrients improves our immune function and makes us less vulnerable when our immune systems are compromised.

There are many benefits to enhanced nutrition, and it is perhaps the single most significant way we can influence our health. As Greenlaw states, “Our cells need essential nutrients and compounds to be healthy and communicate. Nutritional cleansing delivers such nutrients and creates an environment where cells can effectively communicate and perform.”

It is often said that knowledge is power. Knowing something without incorporating the knowledge in a way that benefits us and/or others is not power. We need to take action, and make changes. We need to make different choices as a result of our knowledge in order to truly benefit from it.

So, we have between 46 to 100 trillion reasons to detoxify and fortify our bodies with clean, optimal nutrition. You wouldn’t put anything other than the proper fuel in your vehicles; why put unhealthy junk food in your amazing body? It may not sputter and die right away, but it will run in a sluggish manner rather than at peak performance. Over time it will develop multiple problems leading to costly and often painful repairs. After all, if you don’t take care of your body where are you going to live? For more information about what works for me, you may visit www.wheycoolhealthstyle.com

So true, Linda. Picture this: a 45-year-old woman that had colon cancer, eats very little that is good for her, has no energy, is depressed. I am much older, look younger than she, and have vim, vigor and vitality. It isn't hard to figure, now is it?

Thank you, Deb, for your insightful observations. It is so important to make good choices regarding the things we can decide, and over which we have control...to off-set the things we can't influence very much. Diet, exercise and mindset are clear choices with tremendous power. All the best to you, Deb.
