There were much studies conducted showing the benefits from these two nutrients. Vitamin D and fish oil with high level of omega-3 fatty acids gives nutrients that are good for the skin, bones, heart, and brain. The combination of these two nutrients is also good in preventing stroke, cancer, and heart attack.

Fish oil and vitamin D come from different sources. Fish oil can be obtained from taking fish meal such as anchovy, mackerel, and sardine or taking the said pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplement that is available in the markets. On the other hand, vitamin D comes from exposing one's self to the sun for several hours. There are five types of vitamins and these are simply known as vitamins D1 to D5. The most beneficial among these five is vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D3 is obtained by exposing the body to the sunlight 10-15 minutes every day. Longer exposure to the sun is not ideal for it may cause skin problems.

There are lots of benefits to gain from vitamin D. Like omega-3 fatty acids, its purpose on one's health is of great important. Vitamin D is needed for sustenance of strong bones; it regulates the immune system and prevents colds especially for children; it is found out that this vitamin keeps the brain healthy and works well. Vitamin D is also good to maintain body weight. It reduces the risk of rheumatoid arthritis in women. And like those who take fish oil supplement, people who take vitamin D have low risk of developing cancer.

This only shows how essential fish oil and vitamin D are in the body. If you take good care of your heart, you should take good care of your skin and other parts of the body to have longer and healthier life.
