"Alzhiemer thief of the mind"

Alzhiemer is a disease that steals the information we have stored in  our minds, especially all of our short term memory.   Alzhiemer is a thief of the mind, it slowly reduces a healthy living human being into a zombie state . With Alzhiemerthe person living in the body dissappears from mind; never to be heard of again.

This disease is a mind destroyer, it slowly kills it's victim, and most times the victims are't aware of th actions that atking place in their brain. Alzhiemer slowly calcify the entire  brain of it's  victims over a period of time.  The soft pliable, functioning brain turn into a hard stone like, unfunctioning brain that's no longer a live.

My grand mother was diagnoised with Alzhiemer and the little happy, vibrant grandmother, that I knew, no longer existed she became a zombie in the shell of a body.  She never talked or acknowledged anything or anyone ever again.

all my grand mother was just sit there and stare into a distant space. It really hurt me to see her in that state, but tere wasn't much we could do about it; she finally died at ninety -three years old.  The story doesn't end there, a few years ago my mother was diagnoised with this debilitating and deadly disease.

This disease have the victims in a mind fog, where they forget and don't remember who they really are.  All of this information has frighten me out of my wits.  I am not getting it, I refuse to be a victim and I'm going to do everything in my power to combat this killer disease of the mind.  My mom is still live and she still knows us, so far, but it's really sad to see her lose control of thoughts.  She calls her self crazy, when she really isn't, but Alzhiemer will make people think they're insane because of the emptiness they're experienceing in their heads.

I pray for my mom every day that God take her home before she forget everything and becomes a walking zombie.  Knowin how Alzhiemer work, makes very determined not to ecounter it.  I try to eat properly, get exercise take my ginko biloba, omega three's, and keep my mind busy and pray that God will let this mind theif pass my door of life.

It's awful to see loved ones slowly slip away and become people you no longer recognise!

It's terrible as you have described this stealer disease. Keep yourself healthy, and pray that it will not happen to you. God bless you.

Thank you for sharing. I can relate I know what its like having a Mother with Alzhmeirs. It is not easy. See my hub on "Caring for Mom."

Staying optimistic and taking preventive measures is a good idea.

Blessings

I'm so sorry to hear about that. It' is good however, that you are doing everything in your power to prevent it from effecting you.
