Amino Acid Precursors for Producing Neurotransmitters

Neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin require a lot of building blocks, things like amino acid precursors that the body can take and put together to form more complex compounds. A person can't just take dopamine or serotonin supplements in pill form, because they'd be broken down by the stomach into their amino acid and other components, and would never make it into the bloodstream intact.
