When I was as a little girl, my Mom used to rinse my hair with apple cider vinegar. It made my hair soft and got rid of any dulling residue from shampooing. I don't remember the measurements, but a few tablespoon of vinegar to a quart of water should do the trick.
Let the solution remain on the hair or a minute or two and rinse with warm water. It doesn't smell that great, but it will certainly do the trick. It also is great for treating dandruff.
