Why Apples Really Are Great For Your Health

The Classic Fruit

Apples are a well known health boosting fruit and they have a satisfying crunch. In school we were taught an apple a day keeps the doctor away and ell there is absolute truth in that statement. When we incorporate more fruits such as apples into our diet and take the time to stay active while keeping a positive state of mind toward life, anything becomes possible. Taking our health seriously and doing everything we can in our own power to maintain it is up to us. Let's dig into apples and see how they can help us attain a better quality of life.

Immunity Booster

Apples feature 14 percent of our daily value for vitamin C. Vitamin C is a vitamin that should be given special emphasis when evaluating our diets. It is a strong antioxidant which can help improve our immune system which can help reduce our risks for illnesses. It's important to have abundant resources for this vitamin because our bodies utilize it every day. Including more vitamin C in your diet is strongly recommended for people who smoke, as the act of smoking depletes this vitamin from your blood stream.

Reduces Cancer Risks

Studies have been conducted and confirmed that when apples are eaten regularly in ones diet, they play a role in reducing the risk for cancers such as lung, liver, breast, and colon cancer. The reason for this is because apples feature high levels of flavonoids such as naringin and quercetin which help prevent these illnesses. If you feel like you could replace anything in your eating habits with this apple, jump on it and your body will thank you for it.

Helps With Exercise

Eating an apple before any form of exercise has been proven to help with endurance and energy levels. Apples contain the antioxidant quercetin, which has been shown to make more oxygen available for our lungs. This is just another excellent benefit this fruit can provide for us. If you're looking for natural ways to help with your endurance, reach for an apple and take delight in its abundant health boosting nutrition.

Improves Digestion

Apples are a good source of fiber which is important for regulating our digestive system. When our bodies are nourished with this ingredient, we are able to better absorb the nutrients from foods we eat. With this in mind, apples contain within them so many other health boosting vitamins and minerals which do our bodies wonderful favors. Having a healthy digestive system ensures that we are obtaining nutrition in a more efficient way and it can also rid the body of toxins. Fiber is also shown to aid in weight loss as it can help fill you up in between meals.

Every Day Adds Up

When a person makes the personal choice of improving their health, starting with their general diet is a great way to start. It's the little things we change which can yield us big results. Imagine if you started right now, to include more fruits such as apples in your diet, made time for moderate exercise, and drank plenty of water. These are some of the simplest things we can do and the results are proven time and time again. If you desire better mental focus and to have a better sense of well being, nature has provided us with a bounty of resources with those specific benefits and more.

Purchase Organic Apples

Purchase organic fruit if you are able to. It is proven to contain more quality nutrition and is free of the harmful pesticides used on non organic fruits. Apples come in many varieties, pick and choose which ones you enjoy the best and make it a regular inclusion in your eating habits. Appreciate you reading this article. I haven't had a good apple since I left California. I cannot stand grainy, mushy apples. Must be firm!

I love those Grapples though! How yum!

Thank you for reading ladysonoma. I'm the same way, the more crunch they have the better. I haven't had a grapple in so long, thanks for reminding me (:

Apples are my favorite fruit and I have had 1 A DAY for as long as I can remember. I've even had 2 a day on occassion. The sweet and filling taste fills my need for something sweet. And for a real treat, I cut the apple into quarters, place them in a bowl and sprinkle with raw, unsalted sunflower seeds.

Outstanding hub which got my vote up, interesting, useful and awesome. I will share this with hubbers, FB and Twtr.
