Are You Running Your Own Race? My Journey At Watson Lake Prescott (E.L.D.Y.)

Introduction:

We all know that it is very important to work out, but not many of us are motivated to do so. And to others staying fit comes as easy as the air to breathe.

I am one of those people who has to be inspired to work out. Healthy people motivate me, their truth uplifted through encouraging words leads me into action.

I recently took a trip to Prescott Arizona with my Personal Trainer, to support a dear friend on her compassionate adventure. In the meantime I was inspired by a healthy individual, because she enjoys eating healthy, exercising, and implementing new ways to stay in good physical shape.

I am the complete opposite I enjoy eating food that taste good, which is usually unhealthy for me. I enjoy avoiding any form of exercise, with the exception of Zumba, because it does not feel like a work out.

Anyone who enters my life with good habits which inspires me to work out, I consider to be a private trainer. What I enjoy about my P.T. Susanne, A.K.A “The Word” Is that she encouraged me to take a journey outside of my comfort zone, a journey that led me to run my own race around Watson Lake.

Hopefully this article will inspire many of you to run your own race too!

Meet Personal Trainer Suzanne! I Call Her, T.W. "The Word"

I Don't Like To Hike

Emunah does not like to hike, because hiking involves walking for a long time, while sweating.

However, "The Word" or (T.W.) Loves to explore and she does not seem to mind sweating in the process.

I guess hiking is one way to release toxins from the body.

I would have liked to lay next to the lake and sweat there under the sun while sipping on a Mai Tai, but that is not healthy.

T.W. was prepared, for an 8 mile hike around Watson. Lake in Prescott Arizona.

Get Ready For A Bumpy Journey!

Because we did not receive knowledgeable guidance , our journey started off bumpy.

T.W. wanted a map, and I wanted to Forest Gump my way through this Hike in hopes of eventually completing our journey.

But as many of us may know, there are no short cuts in life. One must be equipped to run a skillful race, If not, you will stray off the given path. And this was exactly what happened on our journey at Watson Lake, we got lost.

My wishful thinking that we would find our trail by instinct did not work, and T.W., was not happy!

We Need A Map Emunah!

Do You Have A Trustworthy Map To Help Lead You In The Right Direction?

Allowing experience to lead the way is a wise choice.

For some of us, our map may be the Bible, or a journal thoughtfully written by faithful people who have experienced this road before.

Many people may not trust their map in life because the person in their life who promoted this plan, did not set a good example, so they cannot believe.

As for me I could trust T.W. because she has been on this journey for awhile, and I spent enough time studying her ways.

In order to trust your journey in life you must follow those who lead by example, someone who can provide a good diagram to lead you through life during your time of need.

I Ran Out Of The Jungle Because Something Touched My Leg.

Being Lost In Life, Is Annoying!

I realized that sometimes you can follow the map, and things still don't make sense. When situations like this occur you have to have faith, before fear takes over.

T.W. wasn't worried about being lost. She didn't mind the long green grass which swiped her legs as we made our way through the thicket of the jungle, and I didn't mind either until something with a long slick tail swiped my leg.

I ran out of that jungle. I didn't know where I was going, but... no. I ran so fast that I ended up in the mountains.

In life your journey can be frightening, just when you think you have life all figured out a monster steps in. I suggest you run! I know you can't run from all situations, sometimes you have to stand your ground. But on this occasion, I chose to run.

A Basic Map Still Come In Handy!

Sometimes You Have To Take Breaks In Life

Sure I was feeling a little discouraged, sitting on the sun soaked rock as I tried to catch my breath.

In life your journey will become exhausting; in such difficult times it helps to take breaks away from situations that are weighing you down. Taking a break gives you time to restore your faith.

As We Continued Our Journey We Ran Into A Family, A Child Was Leading The Way, Directed By Her Father's Voice

In Life It's Okay To Slow Down And Follow Others Who Lead By Example

Sometimes people can become too prideful on their journey in life. Pride slows many people down. Allow others that have wisdom to lead you through your time of need.

Even though a child was leading the way, she was guided by her Father's voice. At times we need to listen out for our Heavenly Father who is greater than our obstacles.

Some people are not believers due to frustration or betrayal, they can't hear that soft, still voice that loves them. Their heart is heavy due to anger which transcends into pain. Building a personal relationship is a part of the journey. Yet, even believers go through times in which they feel distant from hearing solid wisdom in life, we all have our bewildering moments.

Try Not To Complain About Your Journey In Life, It Will Only Slow You Down

The Long Way Home

The Family Took A Break And T.W. And I Moved On

As much as I wanted to stay with the family, we were back on the right track, and it was time for us to run or own race.

Your journey in life is personal, set apart from the rest. Sometimes you will travel with others but eventually, you must break away from family members, and even some friends to complete your individual race.

Who can forget Moses, as he tried to lead his people to the promise land. the grumbling got out of hand, to the point in which it took them a longer period of time to fulfill their trip. If they would have moved on in confidence they would have completed their journey without hindrance.

Our journey moved on throughout the rugged mountains.

Our journey took us over bridges, through dusty roads, farmlands, muddy swamps, and through the forest.

I was content knowing that I was following, T.W. (The Word)

Yes The walking word pulled ahead of me, yet T.W. always looked back to make sure that I was okay, she made sure that I had plenty of water and energy to fulfill my journey.

Throughout life you will need positive words to guide you.

Even though T.W. finished her journey before I did, she was running her own race. I eventually completed my journey at my own pace.

That is what running your own race is all about.

Oh Yes, and once our journey was complete, we had ice cream!

Okay Emunah, I love how you told this story of life 's race and journey. I haven't done hiking since my Boy Scout days. Your hiking seemed challenging especially since something touched your leg (wow). I bet you ran a 50 yard dash in seconds. Anyway, you depicted a spiritual walk in life here. The pictures were great. Wonderful presentation. Keep up the good work. Keep hanging with T.W. She's a positive influence :-)

Emunah, I love all the spiritual analogies you made of our hike, although I do feel unworthy of being labeled T.W. :-) I think we should go to Flagstaff for the next hiking adventure!
