I’m often asked if doing yoga alone is enough to really stay in shape and give your body everything it needs for fitness.
My answer to that is, “Well, it could be...” Maybe if you were doing a full on, super challenging two hour practice 6 times a week. But that isn’t realistic for most people.
In my own practice, I’ve discovered a magic mixture that I think I’m going to call the Epic Workout. I just came up with that… Let me know if you like it. Epic is such a great word.
The magic mix is about 40 minutes of full-on, get your body movin’ workout, and then a strong and sweet yoga practice.
Try it next time you work out. When I do this, my body responds so well that I look and feel my best.
And since I want to share the lean, strong, super yummy health love, I’m offering classes with this magic mix in my yoga boot camp program in Kamloops.
Sorry guys, this is just for ladies. We have a thing about working out together. Even though you’re super fun to exercise with, when it’s only women we find it a little easier to let our guard down and not conjure up silly feelings of intimidation or competition in our heads. A Yoga Fitness Boot Camp for the Women of Kamloops
What it is: The whole concept of this Yoga Fitness Boot camp is for you to lean up and get stronger in a way that’s enjoyable and empowering. You can look forward to a great variety of exercises and dynamic yoga postures, all with good form as you learn precise alignment. (No previous experience with yoga is necessary).
When you dedicate yourself to a program that is balanced with fitness and yoga, intention and focus, you’ll notice and feel the transformation in your body and attitude quickly. It’s possible that you’ll work harder than ever before, but chances are also VERY high that you’ll absolutely LOVE it!
What it isn’t: It’s not an advanced yoga class or a straight-up fitness class that focuses only on the body. You will not be yelled at, or degraded at any point in this boot camp, nor will you be made to do anything you don’t want to. Though you’ll get plenty of motivation and encouragement, it is entirely up to you to get the most out of it, and to respect your edge when you find it.
What makes this program so unique and totally extraordinary is the way it engages your entire being – body, mind, and spirit. While you’re doing lunges and squats, running, or holding a strong yoga pose, you’ll also be working with intention, envisioning the changes you’re making in your body and health.
And because of that mindful intention, thinking of yourself getting slimmer, stronger, healthier, and full of vitality, imagine how much more powerful your transformation will be!
