Psoriasis, How to Beat the Disease

I have written in the past about how you can rid yourself of Psoriasis and clear your skin with a few minor changes in you diet. I based that article on the information I learned from the Pagano/Casey diet and applied to my daily life. Since that time I have modified my approach so the diet aids in fighting off not only Psoriasis but will help you lose weight.

This diet works so well that when I went to see my doctor for my regular appointment, he refused to charge me for the visit saying "I didn't do anything." He was so amazed that he asked me how I did it and by how much weight I lost.

This information is what I shared with my doctor


There are a couple of things you will need to complete this diet such as a high-quality blender or mixer, the one sold at Amazon.com is the absolute best and I will include a link to it at the bottom of the page for your consideration. With it, you will able to follow this program and end your discomfort in a few months. I am sorry there is no quick fix, but with a committed effort, you will be able to beat Psoriasis and lose weight at the same time.
I would encourage everyone to use the Nutri Bullet as it has helped me lose weight (45 lbs) and is a pretty nice way to get your green vegetables. Otherwise, for many it will be impossible to follow this healing diet as many of the vegetables are not tasty enough to spur on your efforts to rid yourself of the disease.


The Program

Once you have your blender or mixer setup, add the following ingredients.
One cup of greens, such as spinach. (raw and organic)One measure (included in the package)

Plant based protein powder (I used Life's Basics Plant Protein Mix with Pea, Hemp, Rice, and Chia Seed. It is delicious.)

A handful of fruit but not banana's, eat those once a day as a snack.

Powdered lecithin (very helpful, in fact, I give it more credit now than when I first published this article)

Almond Milk or Soy MilkFlax, Chia, or Hemp Seeds (or all of them combined)

Mix the ingredients above in your blender and taste. Adjust to your liking and blend a second time by adding a small amount of Stevia or more almond/soy milk until it is pleasing to your palette. I have found the drink can be bitter without adding some sweetener because raw greens sometimes carry an after taste. So make adjustments as you go.

Almost everything listed here can be found at your local health food store, but I often purchase from Amazon because of price and free shipping with my Amazon Prime account. My health food store did agree to match Amazon prices for the items listed above to keep my business.

Psoriasis sufferers should use the above ingredients two to three times a day until you see a clearing in your skin. This result should be seen within the first week or two. At first, you will notice a drying out of the scaly patches, and then they will start to shrink and within a few months be gone altogether.


Foods to Avoid

While you are healing, there are other certain foods to avoid. These are primarily tomatoes including ketchup and sauces (including pizza), peppers, and paprika. You may eat any meat you desire except red meat and processed meat products. Fish is preferred, but chicken or turkey is allowed as well. No fried foods are allowed until your skin is 100% clear. Then you may experiment slowly by adding back into your diet the foods you love. Be cautious, however; if a flare up occurs go back on the diet immediately and avoid the foods that caused the flare up.

You should consume six glasses of spring water every day to flush your system. You may also enjoy American Saffron Tea, Slippery Elm tea or capsules (highly recommended, try Thayers Slippery Elm), green tea or Oolong tea. You may not add sugar or consume sugary drinks while on the regiment. That includes sodas.


Here is a list of foods to avoid until you have your beautiful clear skin back again.

DON’TS:

Do not drink soda of any kind, eat red meat (lamb once a week is permitted), no wheat products except Ezekiel Bread (once or twice a week), tomatoes, ketchup, red sauces, shellfish, peppers, or paprika. Dairy products cause me to break out; I am not sure it is the same for everyone, however.

Do’s:

Do try to live gluten free, drink eight glasses of water every day, drink saffron tea at night, take slippery elm capsules twice a day, drink two to three smoothies a day with the above recipe or similar ingredients. Also, coat the skin with vitamin E cream or skin cream not made from petroleum.

How long does it take to see any positive sign ? I am on Dr. Pagano's diet since last 1 month and yet to see any positive sign. My weight has reduced by 6-8 pounds but have not seen any change on my skin.
