Benefits of Bananas to Us

Bananas are the bomb! We always have bananas at home. It’s the first thing I eat in the morning.

Bananas are very common here in Asia. It’s an affordable fruit that should be present in every home. Bananas don’t go on trees, like many of us would think. They spring from gigantic herbs, which most of us refer to as banana “trees”.

Bananas have many variations; and many uses. There are spotted bananas; bananas for cooking; and bananas you can readily eat. Bananas are also used in making beers, wines and vinegar in some countries.

Health benefits of bananas

Bananas are highly nutritious fruits; very tasty, especially when ripe; and they’re ready to eat even without washing.

Bananas are great snacks. They are filled with energy building nutrients. The potassium and sugar in bananas boosts up one’s energy level. Notice how athletes have bananas on them, too during a match or a game?

If you’re into weight loss and weight maintenance, bananas are good for you too. They are low in calories (just over a hundred) and provide great support to your metabolism and digestive health. It has no fat and no cholesterol content.

The benefits of bananas also include relaxation. It helps reduce depression with its tryptophan content. This amino acid is converted by the body into serotonin which helps us eases tension or stress.

Bananas are also nature’s very own antacid. Hyper-acidic people (like myself) benefits a lot from this fruit. It helps reduce acidity and gastric irritation.

Another up and useful vote. We grow banana trees in our backyard. We have yet to have some bananas from them but my mother once had a stalk of many finger sized delicious bananas from a banana tree in her backyard. They were really good! Bananas are a healthful food and good that they are inexpensive.
