I always wondered if this herb existed outside of Jamaica. It used to cure everything. It falls under the classification of bitters in Jamaican herb culture. It is used to balance a sugary or acidic state of the body. I am glad you did this article.

I had a bad diarrhea due to amoebiasis, I went to the hospital to have my check-up and I did fecalysis and urinalysis...everything was good result but I took metronidazole coz my doctor wanted me to take another fecalysis but since I work in a medical field, I took metronidazole for 4 days only since it was killing me with its side effects...so I stopped taking Metronidazole after four days, but still I had stomach upset like I was worried about my intestines... Till my Uncle brought her daughter some BITTERGOURD and we cooked some...and then the next day, I am healed! It's best for GERD, IBS,HEMORRHOIDS with prayers of course!
