Black Women and Transgender Comparisons: PLEASE STOP IT!

Let me be a Black woman without the manly comparisons!

I have wanted to write an article about this subject for some time. I have had enough of the comparisons between Black women, gay and transgender men. Let me be a Black woman without the manly comparisons! What I find most offensive is the constantly alignment of FLOTUS Michelle Obama with transgender and gay men. She is the only first lady whose femininity has been masculinized. Putting politics aside, why does Mrs. Obama have to be portrayed as a transgendered-ish Black woman? Show some freaking respect for her, not just because of her position; but because she is a feminine and beautiful woman who happens to be Black!

Black women are the mainstream media’s FAVORITE SLAVE!

The mainstream media seems to shutter at the thought that Black women are desirable, feminine, and sexy. They seem to be amazed that non-Black men are actually courting, dating, marrying, and procreating with us. I sincerely believe that if mainstream media accepted the fact that Black women are just that, WOMEN, they would have to put away their slave master’s whips and let us be free! Well, the time has come to trash that slanderous whip and let us heterosexual Black WOMEN be the women we are. STOP comparing us to a transgenders. They have their sexuality and we have ours. All we ask is for our femininity to be respected the same as non-Black women’s femininity.

Black Women and Transgenders ARE NOT THE SAME!

As Black women, does it bother you that often we are clumped in the same category as transgender/gay men? American Black women struggled to be respected for her femininity because she is constantly compared to a transitioning feminine man.

THIS comparison is sickening and tiresome. OUR struggles ARE NOT the SAME as transgenders or gays struggles! OUR discrimination is NOT the SAME as transgenders discrimination! OUR woes ARE NOT the SAME as transgenders woes! Our portrayal throughout media history has been tragic. You would think that in 2014 and with all the historical facts that Black women are just as feminine and sexy as other non-Black women, I would not have to write such a scathing commentary.
