Blood test result

blood test result

In my last hub I wrote about the natural medicine which I took for my high blood cholesterol. As promised I said I will publish my blood result after the fourteen day treatment of the "bokni" (wood ear) drink. Here are the results of the blood cholesterol tests before and after treatment:

Before treatment:                                                                         After treatment

Date taken: 22 March,2010                                                              14 April, 2010

Total cholessterol 7.1 mmol/l                                                              6.5 mmol/l

LDL cholesterol 4.6 mmol/l                                                                 4.2 mmol/l

There is a significant reduction in both cholesterols although they have not reached the optimal level of less than 5.2 and 2.6mmol/l respectively. I am very happy with the result and would encourage readers who have high blood cholesterol to give it a try as it is harmless.

Bokni or wood ear is a kind of edible fungus. It is dried and black in colour. You can get them from the Chinese super market.

I took the drink for 14 days.

Thank you for asking.

Dear Jason,

Thank you for asking.

I use a slow cooker to boil the Bokni over night and I drank the fluids next morning.I suggest you do not keep it in the fridge.

The solids are discarded.

How long is this treatment effective? Does cholesterol go back up after a while?

Also, are there other side effects?
