Best Bodybuilding Diet Plans and Supplements

Getting to know the different types of bodybuilding diets

When you are trying your hardest to find the absolute best bodybuilding diets out there, you want to first set some goals for yourself. How much muscle you want to gain and the amount of fat you want to lose will determine which of the many bodybuilding diets you choose. Not all bodybuilding diets are created equal. Bodybuilding diets that come from sources that are hard to justify or promise killer results in half the time should be avoided. Proper bodybuilding diets are composed of a diet low in fat, high in protein and a reasonable amount of carbs. If you keep those in mind when choosing between the bodybuilding diets you will be one step closer to achieving the results you are looking for, of course, bodybuilding diets are just one aspect of getting the body you desire.

Considerations

In any of the bodybuilding diets, you must consider what you will eat before you workout and after you workout. Those two considerations are crucial in getting the results you want from the use of bodybuilding diets. Good nutrition before a workout will decide if you attain your highest potential during your workout. Eating properly before you workout could be the difference between getting 30 reps and getting in 50 reps. Heck, it could be the difference between benching 175 and benching 250 during your workout. Eating before you work out should occur 1-2 hours before a workout and then taking your trusted supplements about 30 minutes before you hit the gym.

Even more Considerations

Fruit in the Bodybuilding Diets

Fruit in Bodybuilding Diets

I have some suggestions that I have gathered from different bodybuilding diets. These foods before a workout will help provide the results you are looking for, and should be a major part of the bodybuilding diets you look at. Fruit is a vasodilator and should be eaten before any intense workout. Vasodilatation increases blood flow throughout your entire body to ensure the proper amount of blood present in the muscles that are being worked. Supplements normally contain caffeine which effectively constricts your blood vessels. So the incorporating fruit in bodybuilding diets helps to offset the effects of the vasoconstrictors that are present in bodybuilding supplements. Any fruit that is high in carbohydrates, potassium (bananas) or vitamin C, and electrolytes (oranges) are good choices to start off in bodybuilding diets.

The Right Carbohydrates

The carbs that you want to focus on should be anything whole wheat like bagels, bread, or pasta. Oatmeal is a good source also and is very healthy for your heart. These carbs are essential in providing your body with the energy needed to make it to the end of your workout. Stay away from carbs that convert to sugar. You'll have a grip of energy to start off, but lose your luster toward the end.

Protein the Essential Amino Acids

Protein is the main amino acid that helps build the muscle you desire as a bodybuilder. The absence of protein in your diet or not enough will produce no muscle growth. Eggs are the best choice when it comes to putting protein in bodybuilding diets. Chicken or fish (Omega 3s) should also be included in all bodybuilding diets.

Essential fatty acids for Bodybuilding Diets

Fatty acids, which ones? Essential of course.

Essential fatty acids are required in order to keep the testosterone levels in your body on the up and up. They act as ambassadors for energy levels keeping them up and for help in processing fat soluble vitamins that are present in the food you eat as well as the supplements taken for certain bodybuilding diets. The benefit of the essential fatty acids in bodybuilding diets is that they remain in the stomach longer, they are harder to break down and digest, therefore curing the all to common demon of hunger. That is a major factor if you are hungry all the time like me.

During workout nutrition.

This needs to be plain and simple because this is not a critical part of a bodybuilding diets regime. Stick with water, it's your best friend during a workout and ensures that your body stays properly hydrated.

Inserting a pause to ponder.

So, up until this point we have covered some pretty significant parts of bodybuilding diets. I bet you think that it can't get any better than what I have already told you. Well, if you're a beginner you might be in for a surprise because what I'm about to tell you will determine if you get the results you want or not. When it comes to bodybuilding diets it would stink to go through all the steps above and skip the most crucial step for bodybuilding diets. Ready... your post-workout nutrition is a major part of bodybuilding diets and should not be taken lightly. Matter of fact it will make or break your entire workout.

Bodybuilding Diets, 1 to 2 hours. Post-workout meal

Post-workout Nutrition can make or break a workout

If you're anything like me you want results when you set your mind out to do something. If you invest money in something than you would expect a return on your investment, so then I presume the same goes for you if you want results in bodybuilding. Determination and dedication are good, but this is where following bodybuilding diets to a T comes into play. After you finish your workout what you eat after that point will either get the results you desire or seriously dent you determination. The reason for this is simple, after workout is when the muscles begin to recover and rebuild themselves. After a workout the protein has pretty much been used up, so you need to drink a protein shake right after so that the muscle can properly rebuild itself.

The Truth about bodybuilding diets

The truth about bodybuilding diets is that they all work if the principles above are used. Yes, that is correct the problem is, most of the time we are to undisciplined to follow such a regime. Make sure when you choose between the bodybuilding diets that you don't set unrealistic goals that will end up leaving you frustrated. When choosing the best bodybuilding diets the motto should be "Start low, go slow!" There are a couple of things one must consider before starting certain bodybuilding diets. They are your Body Mass Index (BMI) and your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). The purpose of the BMI is to find out if you are underweight, at your prime weight, or overweight. Your BMR is used to determine your daily calorie needs.

How to calculate your BMI for Bodybuilding Diets

A Bodybuilding Diets Daily Calorie need?

Next, Basal Metabolic Rate! Best to know when getting involved with bodybuilding diets

This is crucial when you consider bodybuilding diets require a lot of calories, this calculates how many calories you would burn if you stayed in bed all day. Because the body burns calories no matter what we are doing, including sleep. Here is a link to an online BMR calculator. Follow the link, type in your age, sex, height, and current weight. It then gives you the number of calories you would burn by sleeping all day. This number is then multiplied by a number that defines you as having an active lifestyle or an inactive lifestyle:

little or no exercise : Your BMR x 1.2

light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week: Your BMR x 1.375

moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days: Your BMR x 1.55

hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week: Your BMR x 1.725

very hard exercise/sports & physical job: Your BMR x 1.9

This number is the amount of calories you would need to consume in a day to maintain your current weight AKA daily calorie needs. Before considering any of the bodybuilding diets you may need to lose a little bit weight. To lose weight, you want to do 30 minutes of cardio or burn 500 calories, whichever comes first. Do this daily, five days a week. At that rate you should lose a pound a week and that is the healthy way. This should help you get ready to build muscle because it is good to incorporate cardio into whichever one of the bodybuilding diets you choose. The other good part about losing weight and building muscle this way, is the unwanted weight tends to stay off. Another good rule of thumb is to treat your desire to lose weight and gain muscle as more of a lifestyle change than choosing from the different bodybuilding diets.

You have to choose the right diet to suit your goals. A diet for bulking up will be different to one focusing on losing fat, also everyones metabolism and genetics are different so what may work for one person might not work for the other. An individualized diet plan suited to your metabolism and goals is the key.

I used to eat a high protein meal after a workout, but I found that drinking a protein shake (as you recommended) was a lot more time efficient. Sometimes, I'm just too darn tired to cook a meal after exercise!
