Bring It: P90X Day 78

P90X is an extreme workout. But if you are looking for results, it might be the answer you have been searching for. P90X was created by Tony Horton, based on the concept of muscle confusion. While he provides the tools, you are expected to bring it each and everyday. While the object is to push play, just showing up is not going to get you the results you want. You have to push yourself. The last three reps of each exercise is were the magic happens. Then, with the 12 DVDs, there is enough variety to really max out the results.

Feel free to leave your comments below. This is meant to be interactive and not only inspire but help motivate others. I thank you for taking the time to participate.

P90X isn't for those who just want to show up. If you want results you need to actively participate!

Bring It

Today was an exciting day. Well, what can I say.. every Monday is an exciting day. Why? Because it is results day. I love and hate results day because while I expect some results - I don't always know how good they will be. However, I can usually tell throughout the week if I have had a good week. If I have been watching my nutrition and tracking what I have eaten, I can literally feel the pounds melting off.

On another note, today was also the first day of Winter vacation for my kids. This meant my morning wasn't as hectic. They slept in; I went back to bed. So I got plenty of sleep. I was well rested. I eventually got my workout in later in the morning and I pushed it. I could feel my body coming to failure with each and every exercise. It was awesome.

However, today's workout was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. This one is filled with push ups - which I loathe. Yet I celebrate because I am closing down on this whole P90X adventure. That means this is the last time during this roudn that I will be doing this workout. Yeah - no more odd push up movements that I can barely do!

And the results are in...

Going off of the same theme of the holidays, there are 6 days left until Christmas. So, just a friendly reminder, if you haven't finished with your holiday shopping - now is the time to do it.

And now onto the results...

  1. Weight lost since the beginning - 13.6 pounds
  2. Body Fat Percentage lost since the beginning - 3.1% lower
  3. Inches lost since the beginning - 15 inches (remember I measure both sides)
  4. BMI points dropped - 2.1 points dropped (a difference between obese and overweight)
  5. Pants sizes down - 2 sizes smaller (3 sizes if you just say buttoned and not looking decent)
  6. Mental mood - A complete 180

So with that in mind.... I hope to still be able to see some sort of results next week. This is going to be a very tempting week as I am in the process of my holiday baking, will probably be indulging in way too much food, and will even drink some of my calories! So, to counteract this as best as possible I am going to...

  1. Continue with my workouts
  2. Listen to my body
  3. Snack on veggies and fruit first instead of high calorie appetizers
  4. Drink lots of water beforehand
  5. Eat breakfast beforehand so I am not starving myself to only overindulge
  6. Enjoy my holiday and not stress over it.

So there you have it - 2 lists for the price of 1! Hope everyone is not to stressed before the holidays. And if I don't see you until afterwards... Have a Merry Christmas!

At first I was reading without really thinking about the results and then I was like.... HOLY CRAP! lol. I do not care that you measure both sides this last week you did amazing! You lost an additional almost 4 lbs and 3 inches! That is crazy impressive for one week... I bet all the hard work is starting to pay off for the scale as well!!! lol. Heck if you make 1 lb a week through the holidays I will give you a prize!! (i don't know what the prize is but I will) That means you need to lose 3 more lbs by January 1st! Do you think you can do it? Okay besides that I also want to compliment you on the amazing BMI loss... that is the hardest thing to lose in weight loss. Although I believe it is an unfair measurement for 'obesity' it is still a solid measurement of where you stand. Furthermore it is one of the most difficult areas to lose and a full 2 points is very impressive!! That is about how much (according to the wii fit) I would like to lose in order to be at my ideal weight... although my weight loss would need to be closer to 25 lbs so you can see an obvious in accuracy there! lol. Still very impressive! And I hope you stick to your second list and don't stress out about the holidays... that is the very worst thing you can do :-) Enjoy!

@Myth - The results have been pretty impressive so far. I was really excited yesterday. What I am actually hoping for is to hit another 10 milestone by the first of the year. I am about 4 pounds away from that right now as of my way in yesterday. I am not thinking it is impossible after this week. That would mean that I would be only a short 15 pounds away from my goal for Cassie's wedding. It seems I am just about halfway there. That is pretty exciting. As for the BMI - I acutally use a tool on myfitness pal to get the information. At first I was using this dial I had on my measuring tape but found it inaccurate. So I went back and remeasured it all from the very beginning. That is a hard number to budges, especially since the BMI is purley weight and height and muscle weighs more. However, I am impressed at how much Body Fat percentage I have dropped. That is really what makes the difference. My motivation was starting to lag with the holidays but after the results yesterday - I am back on top again. Holiday stress - yeah - not even a concern anymore. I have a new philosophy right now - Think Skinny! Yep - that is what I am goign to be doing! :)

BBG - every housewife loves a 2 for 1! Lol. You are really shedding the weight - not just in numbers but literally! You go girl - I don't know how you do it but keep it up! The tape measure doesn't lie either, huh?

@Real - Yes - 2 for 1 is defintately not something you can beat! LOL - I am not sure how I have gotten this far but I keep doing it. It will be nice to be able to take a day off once it is done. However, I think I am a little addicted now! The results have been amazing and I don't think it will be easy to stop this program!

Well you don't have to stop it do you? I'm not asking to be dumb I'm curious if there is a stopping point or if they reccomended you stick with it? Like they can't just say "oh there ya go you're done!" and send you packing, right? Is there a plan for after you fini?

@Real - No I don't have to stop... but I might take a break from it for a week. They actually encourage you to pick up and do the 90 days all over again. I just get bored easily so I need to throw in a few different workouts. However, I wish they would say there you go yoru done and send me packing... you know... on a vacation!

LMBO I'd do it to then! I mean if I'm gonna get a vacation out of the deal...sure I'll jump - how high?

I have actually wondered about that more than once...like what's the recommended dosage after 90 days? Well you'll have to let us know what the plan is....!

I read the Guidebook... well... a while ago and it basically stated - if I got this right, that you should go ahead and do P90X over again if you are not where you want to be. However, there is a whole section called Life after P90X. I didn't want to get ahead of myself so I didn't read it yet! Well, I got the title anyway. But I could use a vacation after this workout! LOL We should go to Hawaii!

A week ago you only lost 10 pounds. Awesome BBG!

I can't believe kids get a week off. In order for my generation to have gotten a week off x-mas needed to be on a wednesday.

Is it better that they get this time off? Obviously you don't have to get them off to school, but what about them being home and making messes, asking for meals, ect.

@Daffy Duck - The kids enjoy the time off... I think the parents that are the ones that stress over it a little more. I know I would have had more time to Christmas shop if they were in school the week before Christmas. Ha ha - but it has been a nice break! Hope you had a merry Christmas!
