BrokenHeartOne (how to mend a broken heart)

Break Those Habits- Ditch the Dross

It might seem easier said than done but breaking all contact with your ex is a major step in the right direction on the road to fixing that broken heart. Move on. Delete your ex from your social network pages. Wipe their number from your phone. Stop tormenting yourself by playing those special songs that you held so dear together. Banish all connections from your mind. Take the photographs down. Move the furniture around. Try new foods, new places, new hobbies . If your ex doesn't want to be in your life...don't let them live on in your head. This is the time for breaking associations, changing habits, changing thoughts, changing patterns and changing the damned locks if you have to.

It is very important to avoid the triggers that take you back to the emotions which you had nurtured within your relationship. Ditch those habits. Avoid the places you used to go together. Take down the posters you laughed about together.

This doesn't make you heartless...by the way. The whole premise of this hub is that your ex plainly doesn't want you any more and you are seeking out ways to drag yourself away from the heartache you are feeling. This article is about finding ways to come to terms with the fact that your ex simply doesn't want you around any more. You wouldn't be here and you wouldn't be reading this if there was any other story behind it. Your ex has made it perfectly clear that they don't want you around any more and...as harsh as it may sound...you should be forging ahead and moving away from the situation. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking your ex might still want you. If there's any chance they'll change their mind then it will soon evaporate anyway if you are hounding them with your pleas and protestations. If there really is a chance then they'll come back to you after they've been given their space...but don't hold your breath. Life is way too short for all that anyway. Break all contact. Move on...and if your paths do happen to cross...be polite and march on.

At this stage I am going to introduce you to some affirmations and empowering questions.

Affirmations are positive statements. You should aim for regular sessions during which you can repeat your affirmations to yourself. Just by repeating these positive statements of intent to yourself you are driving the positive into your subconscious mind and installing a confident belief system. You might think it's silly repeating these little mantras over and over to yourself but there's absolutely no doubt that it works to reinforce the self-conviction and declaration in your head. If it didn't work you wouldn't have advertisers spending millions telling you you're 'lovin' it' and reminding you to 'just do it' or pummeling home the fact that 'every little helps' Just trust me on this...go with it...and remember...the more you repeat these affirmations the stronger the belief will be. I myself have turned a lot of my own affirmations into songs...and...thanks to catchy melodies and concise lyrics...they tend to be with me all day long. I'll give you some examples of basic affirmations and some examples of my own songs. If you really want to step up a gear you would be wise to make some of your own songs up...even if you can't concoct a tune. Just use some of the tunes of your favourite bands and singers. Have fun....and keep the affirmations in the positive.

Empowering Questions are amazingly effective tools in self-development and learning. In a nutshell you just ask yourself a multitude of questions relating to the area in which you are aiming to better yourself. As an example....let's say you are writing a novel and you've hit a writer's block and you just can't get any ideas flowing. You might then ask yourself a set of questions including 'How can I make this character believeable?' or 'What new twists can I come up with to throw the story in a wonderful new direction?' Ask yourself certain questions and your mind will search it's subconscious and...after a little time...it will come up with the answers. Those are pretty random examples I laid out there. In self-development you'll be asking yourself how you can improve your confidence, how you can conquer certain fears or how you can get over this broken heart.

Affirmations and empowering questions will relate to whatever point we are tackling...so today we are looking at ways to BREAK CONTACT and DITCH THE DROSS.

Cheers
