Will Vitamin C interact with Coumadin (Warfarin)?

Will Vitamin C adversely interact with Coumadin (Warfarin) ?  The answer is yes it can.  This answer does not mean that Vitamin C will always adversely interact with Coumadin (Warfarin).  The medical literature indicates that the amount of Vitamin C taken and the individual's body chemistry plays a role in the interaction between Coumadin (Warfarin) and Vitamin C.

The medical literature also indicates that you should always consult and tell your physician that you are planning to take Vitamin C when you are on Coumadin (Warfarin).  Your physician then can advise you as what to do, and they will know that you are taking a supplement that can adversely interact with Coumadin (Warfarin).

Dear Mr. Ralph Deeds, Thank you for kind comments. I researched and wrote this hub article because there was a "gap" in the lay literature concerning the interaction between Coumadin and Vitamin C. I always appreciate your comments.
