Crystals for Health, Healing and Happiness

Updated on January 25, 2011

Have you ever sat there and thought you could really do with some help to get you through a job interview or motivation to get you through a project or help with a difficult confrontation? I’m sure you all have because I know I have.

Healing crystals can be used for many different things and have always been considered as special and extraordinary with their fascinating forms and unusual colours.

Crystals are known for wearing as jewellery and in alternative medicine to cure illness and meditation but did you know that you can use them to balance your mind, life and insecurities?

The basic colour and meanings are;

Black                                       grounding

Brown                                      enabling

Red                                          energizing

Orange                                     releasing

Yellow                                     organising

Green                                       balancing

Blue                                         communicating

Indigo                                       cooling

Violet                                       integrating

Pink                                         accepting

White                                       cleansing

Clear                                        clarifying

All you need to do to start is go into any mind, body and spirit shop and pick up any crystals that appeal to you, if it jumps out and you think what a beautiful stone it is – Get it. These can vary from 50p through to £10 or more (all of my crystals cost me a small 50p) you don’t need to go overboard and spend a fortune.

You will need to cleanse your crystals to get rid of energies and so they only hold your energies and this can be as simple as running your crystal under water and then place in sunlight to dry. You can really go to town and use incense smoke or ring chime bells to cleanse your crystals but in my opinion this is a little extreme as running it under water in my eyes does the trick.

Below I am going to give you a sample of some crystals and what they can help you. All you need to do is wear the stone, whether as a necklace, bracelet or earings or just carry it around with you, in your pocket or in your bag.

Quartz

Calming and inspiring, it stops the build up of anger, resentment and bitterness. Blue Topaz aids clear communication.

This is just a few of the many crystals that are available and each and everyone of them have their own cleansing quality. You can either use the crystals like that and keep them under your pillow at night or around your neck or in your pocket and let the crystal do all the work or you can do what I do and that is dedicate your crystal. Normally its only Clear Quartz that are “programmable”, the way to programme your crystal is by holding it to your third eye chakra and concentrate on the purpose to which you want to use your crystal for, remain positive while you fill your crystal with your energy. I use mine for remembering my dreams, my worry crystal (to take away my worries), my assertiveness crystal (to make me assertive at work when needed) and believe me I have many more…

Having crystals and keeping one with you each day for whatever reason gives you the uplift and motivation to get on with whatever life throws at you, is it the crystals doing their magic or is it all in the mind? Whichever it is, I know it works for me.
