Depression Be Not Proud.......

No be not proud not joyfull
you have ruined the child that you adored
I see them everywhere used them for
your own gain and then dropped them
like a yardfull of broken toys
Over there........a new shiny red wagon otherwise
perfect except the missing wheel
And there in the back yard......
A swing with a painted horse to be
ridden by a laughing little girl
except there is no handle for those
the little hands.......
And there leaning against
the garage a
bicycle with a basket holding a baseball glove but
How does it stand with no spokes?
Yes , I'm ashamed of you to take such a beautiful
child and twist it for the perversion
that you have the childs
whole life mapped for your pleasure
To molest thier happiness
To bend and mold a personality like so much
play dough..... No.....No be not proud at all........
Depression ...I'm here to explain it all for you
You are a bastard........

Explosive hub and rightly so. I couldn't agree more. Living is to go for people like that.

A powerful message here of innocence stolen and destroyed, never to be returned or rebuilt. I agree with Marellen, there are NO excuses; the perpetrators have no claim on life.

Warm wishes to you dear ahorseback,

These words ring so true. Depression allows one to see the prize but keeps it forever twisted just enough to remove the joy. What a great poem you have written. I really mean that, not just lip service.

Depression is such a sad state for Anyone to be held captive in...I think Cardisa, above me, has stated it best. Ahorseback, if you are a father, than I wish You, "A Happy Father's Day" my friend.

Ah, I felt every inch of that poem. God bless you, and fight depression for all you're worth. You'll win, and laugh in the face of the enemy.

All the broken toy's that could have been mended, instead they wait. I felt the heart that still remembers. We truly connected on this one. Thank you for sharing.
