Diet Date with Mate!
Meal in a Glass!
My Soul Mate and I have decided to go on a diet together, starting March 1/2013. I always find when trying to quit or start things giving myself a start date to begin or end something helps me to prepare for the challenge ahead. I believe if we give ourselves time to prepare it helps increase our chances of our endeavors being successful. Now what works for one does not necessarily work for another. We each must find a way that suits our own personal needs so we are able to reach our goals. Sometimes this may involve staying away from certain people or places that may encourage you to eat or drink more of things you shouldn't be if you are trying to diet.
Monitor Your Diet
I am glad that I am starting my diet with my soul mate this way we can be supportive to each other during the times of weakness which will come. Even if you are dieting on your own there is free healthy living based websites that can help you monitor your diet and exercise as well as suggesting healthy recipes and just giving you some daily support.
Daily Brisk Walk
One of the best and safest forms of exercise is walking; which my soul mate and dog love to do. Once I get going I enjoy going for walks but at times it can be a little hard to get off the couch. I have to admit I do feel more energized once I have come back from a good brisk walk.
Keep Drinking Water
It will be hard not eating our favorite junk foods such as my favorites being chips and dip and anything with chocolate in it or over it. I am always looking for new healthy snacks to replace my chocolate and chips. Another important thing to remember is to drink at least 8 glasses of water each and every day; especially when you start working out there is a bigger chance of dehydrating. It is so important to keep drinking water through out the day to help keep our systems functioning properly.
Replacing a Meal with Health Drink
I am going to be making health drinks to replace a meal for myself and my soul mate. I will be using my nutri-bullet which blends up fruit, nuts and veggies to a lovely smooth health drink. I will be eating a cooked meal at dinner time. I will have a health drink for either breakfast or lunch. If you can make health drinks or smoothies I would say try and take at least one of these a day in place of a cooked meal. You will be getting all kinds of vitamins and nutrients from these power drinks. Get creative mix different fruits, veggies and nuts to make your own perfect meal in a glass! Drinking these are great as they completely by-pass the digestion process making the process a lot easier for your body to process it quickly. I find some combinations are too thick so I water them down with coconut water or regular water and they are fine. I also add cocoa, cinnamon, honey or stevia (artificial sweetener) to them for added flavor. Part of the fun is coming up with your own flavors of health drinks that suit your personal taste. This is a great way for me to get nutrients and vitamins that I would normally get from eating lots of fruits and vegetables something I don't do. So drinking them works much better for me; so I wish you luck in your dieting endeavors but in the end we must all choose the system that works for us personally!
