When we look at this vegetable we can't even imagine all of the benefits it has to offer for our bodies. You look at this green vegetable and imagine how lite weight it is and think, it can be packed with all of this stuff that can do this for us? Yes, it is very true.

Celery can help us in remarkable ways. Some of the benefits of this vegetable you may already be aware of, while some may surprise you.

Health Benefits

Celery is healthy for our joints and is great for those who suffer with arthritis, rheumatism and gout. It has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce swelling as well as pain, including around the joints. Celery also has diuretic properties that can remove uric acid crystals that build up around the joints from time to time.

Due to this vegetable having high vegetable C levels it can help prevent free radical damage in return reduces the severity of asthma. It is also because of the vitamin c levels that makes it great for the immune system, giving it a boost. It also helps with our cardiovascular health because of the vitamin c as well. It may also be good for colds because of the vitamin C.

This vegetable has plenty of potassium and sodium which can regulate the fluid balance in our system. Celery has the presence of coumarins in it, something that may give some relief to migraines. I'm sure that's a little fact that many of us can use.

Celery may also be good for those who have bladder disorders, kidney problems or anything along those lines. It's because of the seeds that it's been known to also assist in avoiding urinary tract infection in women.

The leaves of celery are eaten for treating diabetic conditions and dripping celery tea drops on eyelids is said to be good for ophthalmologic disease.

This vegetable offers us a great source of calcium which may end up calming our nerves. Celery is also a great source of antioxidants. If you drink celery juice before eating a meal it can help reduce weight. If you eat it on a regular basis it can help us avoid kidney disease, pancreas problems, help us with our gallbladder, and constipation. It also helps with our teeth.

It is important to note that celery isn't good for pregnant woman because of their seeds containing things that can cause contractions in the uterus.

All of the vitamins and minerals and healthy stuff that celery has to offer us are amino acids, boron, calcium, essential fatty acids, folate, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, sulfur, zinc, vitamin a, vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5 and B6. It also offers us vitamin k and e. It's also a great source of fiber.

Conclusion

Celery is altogether vegetable that should be added into our diets. It can work wonders on our diets, not to mention it can be a very healthy snack for us if we are in need of a snack. Instead of picking up that chocolate brownie why not have some celery? Especially after knowing it has all of this good stuff to offer our bodies?
