Dowsing For Earthlines_Space Clearing

Awakening the Third Eye
Awakening the Third Eye

Covers Earth Lines, Dowsing, Energy Management, Meditation, breathing techniques, relaxation and much more.

How you feel inside your own home and haven is determined by its physical elements - the colour scheme, the furniture placement, pictures, plants and lighting. These factors are the more obvious and play a major part in our wellbeing and state of mind. What about the less obvious.

We are living in a world where we have a permanent exchange with our environment on the level of matter and the level of energy. It’s unavoidable; we cannot create an existence that is not influenced by our environment and that includes our own homes. Whilst we don’t always have a say in what pollutants we are subject to, we can take steps to minimize their adverse effects on our own personal space.

The topic of Earth Lines was covered extensively in my hub Earth Lines and the Hartmann Grid. As Earth Lines are known to be energetic garbage cans, it’s important to learn where they are in your home and ensure you have not placed your favourite chair, desk or your bed on one. Any place you spend long periods of time needs to be supportive of your health and not depleting it.

Source

Meditation Space

Additionally if you are a meditator it is very important the space you do your practices is free of earth lines or energetic toxins.  Wherever you open yourself, wherever you let go and relax needs to be clean and unhindered by toxic debris.  Interestingly the more meditation practices you do, the more sensitive you become.  True there is a strength of energy that is forged by meditation, but paradoxically it’s because of this you chose not to sit on a garbage can when going into blissful and altered states of consciousness.  Placing the “light of protection’ around you is perhaps not the right solution!  Instead make sure your space is clean.  The states you reach in meditation, or not reach, can be determined by the space you meditate in.

Dowsing – the equipment

No need to go out and buy expensive gear for this.  You need two L-shaped rods and two ball-point pens.  The rods are made of thick wire and wire coat-hangers will do the trick.  Grab a pair of wire cutters/pliers and but each hanger into an L-shape.  The longer side of the L is approximately 40 centimetres (400 millimetres) or 15 inches.  The shorter side is about 12 centimetres (120 millimetres), or 4.5 inches.  A few millimetres either way won’t make any difference.  In case you don’t have coat-hangers, the wire you use needs to be rigid enough to keep its L-shape.

Then grab two cheap ball-point pends.  Remove the ink parts and keep the plastic shell.  Insert the shorter parts of your L-shaped rods inside the shells.  This is all you need to dowse.

The rods must be able to rotate freely inside the shells.  For this to happen, make sure the rods are sharply bent at a 90 degree angle between the two parts of the rods and not a progressive curve.  And ensure each side of the L is as straight as possible.  If the shorter side of the rod is bent, even slightly, then unwanted friction will hamper the free movement of the rod.

Dowsing needs attitude!

You need to be able to focus when doing this technique so no distractions.  You also need a strong awareness of the navel area.  To do this imagine you are a martial arts student, grounded and strong in the belly.  Go for the John Wayne Cowboy stance!  Practice walking around with your focus in the belly until you become comfortable with it.  It’s from this grounded belly awareness that dowsing works.    This strong awareness in the belly can also heighten sensations you may feel when dowsing lines.  You could feel the lines tangibly if you are receptive enough.  A vibration or tingling is a common sensation.  Don’t worry if you can’t feel, the rods will do the work in conjunction with the belly.

For those who make use of their Third Eye, the focus is on both the Third Eye and the belly.  This will create a heightened awareness during dowsing and the sensations are likely to be very tangible.

Lets do it – the technique

Hold one rod in each hand, at about the same height as your navel.  Think of John Wayne and the guns.  Remember be in your belly so get out of your airy fairy thinking.  Focus and be grounded.

Be careful not to block the top of the rods with your thumbs, keep them free.  And keep your hands as steady as you can.

Have some tape handy to mark the lines as you find them.  Start at one section of the room and move forward.  When you cross a line the rods swing and position themselves parallel to the line, you just have to look at the direction pointed to by the rods.  It doesn’t make any difference whether the rods rotate to the right or left, or one to each side.

When you cross a line, just before the rods turn you may feel a ‘physical’ sensation in the belly.  The feeling may be uncomfortable, it is a toxic line afterall.  For those that can sense these feelings, keep tuning in.  If one line is more uncomfortable than another, it’s most likely a sense of the level of toxicity.

Once you get a rough idea of the general orientation of the grid, it’s preferable to walk in a direction perpendicular to the lines.  Use the tape for marking to make it easier.  Once you have all the parallel lines of one group, start walking perpendicular to them to find the second part of the grid.

It is possible that you find lines that are not in keeping with the grid.  You may have come across power cables or an underground creek.  Generally speaking, depending on your level of sensitivity, electric cables usually make moderate lines.  Underground water creates the type of lines that make you sick when you tune into them. Water pipes are somewhere in between the two, depending on the volume of water flowing through.

Also, if your rods start swinging as soon as you start, you may actually be standing on an earth line to begin with.

Don’t overdo it

Understand you are playing around with earth lines. Unless you are trained and adept at the craft, it’s advisable not to do too much dowsing all at once. By putting your attention on these lines you’re level of interaction is heightened and so too is the likelihood of being drained by them. It’s tiring work.

If you are low in energy, depressed, or pregnant it’s not advisable to do dowsing. It’s also not a sport for growing children.

After dowsing make sure you wash your hands. Maybe take a shower if you feel particularly effected by the lines. Remember you’ve been playing in a ‘garbage can.’

Your piece of paradise

Pollution comes in many forms, from the rotting compost of your leftovers, to excess noises from traffic and factories, pungent smells, and the barrage of the invisible electro magnetic radiation wafting in the airwaves.

Maintenance of our own personal space is a precious need and not something to be complacent about. Maybe dowsing earth lines is a way to ensure your space is at it’s very best to support you.

Hmmm, I am a dowser but never did it for this. I can locate water pipes, gas lines, etc. I discovered this when I was in my early twenties using welding rods. Now I must try this one. thanks Jewels. CC

Like ralwus, I can dowse water pipes, bits of metal and so on using a crystal pendulum. Your idea sounds a lot more fun, and I will certainly be testing this out!

The American Society of Dowsers is based in Danville, Vermont a couple of hours from my home. I have always wanted to attend one of their get togethers, and this hub may just set me in that direction.

Thanks.

Thanks for writing this Jewels, looks like dowsing is worth experimenting with! I liked the John Wayne suggestion. :)

Hi CC, you are a man of many talents! If you can find water pipes and gas lines, then you'll have the knowhow to find the earth lines. Fantastic.

Amanda, thanks for commenting. I wish it was my idea, I can't take the credit for it. It's an ancient craft using divining rods and of course the pendulum. I've not used the pendulum on Earth Lines, I'll have a go for fun. There are people who use their hands, no devices. Very sensitive and skilled.

Christopher, I can see a new hobby, and maybe a new occupation in your future! ^_^ Interestingly, I know water diviners are very employable. Imagine being able to use the skill in home decorating as well.

VioletSun. The John Wayne walk is good for many occasions! Really fun practicing. LOL.

i too have dowsed at one point of time and was able to identify the postitive and negative areas in my house as well as negative objects which were draining energy.Have been able to improve the postivity in my house by using the rods similar to ones described by you. still have them.thanks for reconnecting me to them wil start using them again.

Great post Jewels! This method is easy to use. The "fruit tree limbs" are not as easy. I can dowse with either and so can everybody - I'm sure - if they get the technique "down". With the metal rods it is easier.

Using a fruit branch -the palms are up- the Y branch is held tightly. My daughter dowsed perfectly her first time. The twig will bend toward the energy and point strongly toward the ground and the energy. After this - when let go - the twig will "unwind".

Oddly enough - for water - well drillers say they have the same luck with dowsers as without. Evidently there may be more energy pulling that the energy of the water. It does find water though. God bless!

Jewels profile image

Jewels 5 years ago from Australia Author

I've not tried the twigs but will give it a go. And I've heard stories about water divining and how drillers will use the dowsers before sticking the drill in the ground. It's great to get some responses which shows it's a very doable craft. Anyone can learn using the rods.

You must hold the twig "TIGHTLY". You do that with a fairly green-cut Y branch of a fruit tree and some others and you will see "magic". The end will point downward. And- the Y in your had will forcibly curl away toward where and what the twig did.

Jewels, thank you for great Hub,with useful facts. I like the way you wrote this hub - very easy to understand and appreciate.

AmaniT 5 years ago from Sydney

Hi Jewels,

I tried it the other day and was surprised at the difference it makes trying to dowse without grounding, compared to really being centred and the focus lower in the body. It was much more obvious when the dowsing rods were really swinging, and what wasn't my imagination that they 'swung in the wind'.

Thanks for your article, Jewels! Keep 'em coming.

Fascinating hub Jewels. I have experienced success dowsing with a crystal on a pendulum around a standing stone circle in the Lake District here in the UK. Interestingly I only had success on certain stones in the circle, and had no success with rose quartz, only with a clear crystal quartz that twirled round at a great rate of speed even though my hand was completely still (as could be confirmed by onlookers).

My Step Father was a huge sceptic of any kinds of dowsing, thinking it all a load of New Age nonsense, that was until a friend of the family dowsed his garden with rods and found an underground spring he had already known was there. She persuaded him to try dowsing for himself, stating that 'it wasn't necessary to believe in it for it to work'. He reluctantly agreed, and was amazed when the rods also 'crossed' for him over the location of the underground stream. He is now far more inclined to believe that this is not 'hocus pocus' but probably a valid scientific method as yet not understood by our current level of science, but definitely one that can work.

Life's good Christoph. I'm about to start 7 weeks of spiritual practices which will no doubt lift my writing clarity more! Thanks for the heads up on that by the way. Hope your dowsing experience ensures a great space in your home.

Hi Misty, It's great to hear stories like your step father's. Love to see the skeptics question their logic! There is an entire society for dowsers, they can't all be wrong. And of course to be able to do it yourself reinforces the experience.

Yes Amy, practice helps! Some people have the knack and get it straight away. I'd be surprised if people couldn't get the rods to move. Happy dowsing.

Facinating Hub. Thanks Jewels. Once I doused for water to drill a well and it worked! Why is it bad to have a stream running below the ground where your house is built?

Jewels profile image

Jewels 5 years ago from Australia Author

Hi Marshacanada. Interestingly you'd think water to be cleansing and therefore ok to be flowing under your house. Not the case energetically, and the more intense the flow of the water, the more noxious the line it creates.

One indicator is the sludge from above is dragged underground. To see this experientially have a look at a flooding river. At first glance you get this sweeping refreshing, sometimes awakening effect. Going deeper you can see how it is picking up and sweeping debris - both physical and energetic, along with it. Secondly a flowing creek does not induce stillness while sleeping, instead there is chaos beneath you.

Thanks for your reply Jewels. This puts a whole new view on Frank Lloyd Wright's home "Falling Water." Sort of like living under hydro poles. Also neighbour told me we have an underground stream running down through our block. I will have to check on it.

Jewels profile image

Jewels 5 years ago from Australia Author

It's a beautiful house and on the surface it feels wonderful. Every time I go deeper into the experience of sleeping on water I close and want to move away from it. It's such a paradox because waterfalls are beautiful and very soothing to watch and be around. Also what's interesting to be aware of - that water itself is a cleanser to your etheric (life force or chi), especially salt water (sea water). What helps to cleanse the etheric is excretion using water. It seems the more I delve into this the more questions I have on the subject. In dowsing circles it is common to avoid building on underground water streams, yet when using rational thinking it doesn't appear to be harmful. If you are good at etheric sensing - gut feelings help here - tune into your land in depth and make choices from there. I'd particularly avoid building the bedroom over a line.

This is a fantastic hub and a fascinating idea to practice; I consider myself a sensitive and do believe and feel the many differing energy fields around me. But I have never thought of using dowsing before, so as you can imagine this has got me intrigued.

I will definitely give this a go and practise, thanks for the clear descriptions on the (How 2s) and the marking methods, this is one I will definitely try.
