End To A Season, Start to Another

Well, today marks the end of a season. My wife and I have decided to step down as Youth Director of the youth program at our church. We have had a pretty long run of about 4-1/2 years at Brooklake Church in Federal Way, and have had several years of experience each in other churches in the past.

The decision has been a very tough one as we are very passionate in working with middle school and high school students, helping them strengthen their relationships with Jesus Christ. However, we have really prayed about and felt that God has been leading us in a different direction. We need to get back to some of the basics and spend desperately needed time with our family, finances and our own personal relationships with Jesus. It’s not that easy to move into a new season of our life, but we really believe God has something else in store for us.

We still plan to lead the Middle School program for a short time in the new year, but still working through the transition details. Tonight, we serve our last day in the High School program by putting on a really awesome formal Winter Ball, held at our church. Everyone is pitching in to help and I’m excited at how amazing it will turn out!

We have been extremely blessed and are very grateful for the opportunity to serve at Brooklake. We are also very blessed to have such an awesome team of youth leaders that have really made the youth group what it is today. They deserve most of the credit and we are truly thankful for what they bring to the table! We also, will miss hanging out week in and week out with the wonderful students who have really blessed our lives more than they realize.

Thank you everyone for the opportunity to serve, hang out and build lasting relationships in Christ! We are not going anywhere, as we love this church, and look forward to hearing from you all from time to time.

Dawnell and I feel that God has something in store for us and we have a heart for serving Him always. As one season draws to a close, so another one begins. Can’t wait to see what God has for us going forward!

Joshua 1:9 - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
