Five top ways to relieve your stress! Sure stress relievers!

God will never give anything you cannot handle, so do not stress –Kelly Clarkson

‘I have not done my exams properly today. I feel tensed about my marks’. I could not help smiling when I heard these comments. I did not smile at the comments but at the age of the boy who was conversing with his friend. The boy was at the best eight years old and he was talking about tension. Almost everyone in this modern world feel tensed in one matter or the other.

Stress has become the most commonly used word in this modern society. The yester generation did not talk about stress as there was no cut throat competition you have today.

Why do you feel stressed?

  • Life has become fast and mechanical.
  • You are under pressure to prove yourself as a successful person.
  • When your success falls short of your expectations there is tension, strain and stress.
  • Family relationships have also become very strained.
  • There is no backup of love in most families and the result is stress.

Are there ways to overcome stress?

  • You can get rid of it when you make concentrated efforts to overcome it.

1. Listen to good music.

When I am out of mood, I immediately listen to good melodious songs and I visibly feel my frayed nerves unwinding. Music has the magic of pacifying stress and makes you feel good. Choose a calm place and relax in a comfortable chair. Let the light be dim. Now close your eyes and switch your mind off your problems and listen to music. You can feel yourself relaxing and you feel immensely relieved.

2. Do yoga.

Yoga is an excellent stress reliever. It gives clarity to your mind and your seething emotions can be controlled if you do yoga the proper way. Meditation is another exceptional way to relax. Close your eyes and focus your thoughts on something that gives you immense pleasure. It is no use meditating with your thought jumping from one thing to another.

Your thought should be a single one and your mind should be focused on that single thought. Now close your eyes and breathe calmly in a rhythmic manner. You breathe in and your mind is focused on that single thought, you breathe out and again your mind is focused on the same thought. Do this kind of meditation for twenty minutes and you feel good. I always think of my daughter when I meditate and magically my stress disappears.

3. Go for outing.

Worries seem to make you stressed and you feel fettered and shackled by your problems. When you are at home your problems loom larger than life and threaten your peace. When you move away from the place, you feel as though your problems also have taken a step back. When you feel stressed, try going out with the family and it makes your stress a little less pronounced.

This does not mean you have to spend a lot of money in your outing. In India families usually visit temples to soothe stress. Indians are basically very religious and feel that god takes care of their problems when they visit him. God is definitely an anchor to your stress. Eating out and spending some good quality time with your family can also help you.

4. Watching comedy shows.

When you laugh, you feel light and stress free. You can watch some comedy shows to give you some break from stress. Laughter is the best medicine for stress and so you should try laughing your heart out. When you frown and crib, your stress is not going to go away. Instead try taking a lighter view of your problems to relax your mind.

5. Imagine your problems are over.

You are stressed when you assume the worst for you. You become edgy thinking of your problems and your imagination about your failure is very vivid. You are convinced that your defeat is never ending and you thrust on yourself the burden of stress.

Instead reverse your failure thoughts to thoughts about your recovery from problems. Your imagination should be so life like that you should literally experience the happiness you are bound to feel when all your problems are overcome. Believe me; it works as it has worked for me.

Life is short and it is sad if you overburden yourself with stress and pressure. You can overcome hardships with your grit and determination. ‘This too shall pass’ you should cling to this wonderful motivation which gives you immense hope. Stress is your own invention and when you dust it off it flies away to make your mind fresh and bright.

Hi,

This is a very important hub for everyone to read---I sent it to Twitter to all my follows.

I have learned to face any issues---if I can solve them I do---if not I give it to God with a prayer and than I put a smile on my face and forget about. It may sound silly to some---but I believe in being positive and I just kick the negative issues out of my mind.

Thanks for writing this---it was great.

Your Hub Friend,

Bobbi Purvis
