It would appear that K Vercillo has got her facts wrong on a number of points. (1) Whilst very small quantities of CLA can be found in meat and dairy products, dietary CLA is derived from Safflower oil, the only problem that vegetarians would have with CLA tabs, is the softgel case which is made from gelatine. (2) She also incorrectly states that CLA can cause insulin resistance and lead to diabetes in people who are extremely overweight.

At Purdue University in Indiana, CLA was found to improve insulin levels in about two-thirds of diabetic patients, and moderately reduced the blood glucose level and triglyceride levels.
