Getting Behind The Wheel Drunk

Updated on August 12, 2013

Is It Really Worth That Drink?

The picture to the right makes you sick at your stomach doesn't it? Is it enough to make you stop and think before getting behind the wheel drunk? For some, yes and for those stupid and pig headed people the answer would be no. Such a shame that someone or possibly more than one person lost their lives or have been totally disfigured by one stupid move by getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.

When we are out partying away the alcohol makes you think that you are superman or superwoman and the two or three ton vehicle you are about to get in is like a tank and can not be destroyed no matter what.

Well, the photo above shows differently doesn't it. Metal bends and breaks up very easy when hitting something at a high rate of speed and we all know that speed kills one way or another.

If you think for one minute that you are protected in that vehicle, alcohol can and will prove you wrong.

Drinking and Driving

Please Drink Responsibly

Back in my younger years of drinking alcohol, I do have to admit I was of those pig headed people that thought I will never get in a accident. I'm good to go and will make it home safe after a night of drinking alcohol and lots of it.

I was by far no angel I can tell you that, but you know as we get older and hopefully wiser we start to think of what we are doing before we start to do it, like driving drunk.

When I got out of those partying years with my drinking buddies and settled down and got married, I must admit, "I never drove drunk". I had enough sense to not get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. I would not step foot behind the wheel because I knew that I was too drunk to navigate a vehicle in the state I was in. There are of course, the other people that have no fear of drinking and driving. That's the cool thing to do right? WRONG!!

If you don't treasure your life enough not to drink and drive then stop for a moment and think of those people you are putting at risk by driving them home, or an innocent person or people you may hit and kill while you are driving drunk heading home or heading to one more bar as many alcoholics do. Got to hit all the bars until I am plastered and can't see straight to drive my car.

Unfortunately, I know many people that do just that. These people that used to be my drinking buddies have now fallen off the face of the earth once I changed my life around and became clean and sober. We now have nothing at all in common sad to say, but that is fine with me because that is not my life style anymore.

So just a heads up on all those out there that get behind the wheel of a car after a night out drinking alcohol, it is not worth the few hours of feeling buzzed and drunk out of your skull when you may wake up in a hospital and being told you have killed someone or maybe even a entire family while your where driving drunk.

If you were told something horrible as this, do you think you would ever be able to live with yourself again. can you imagine just how many lives would be changed and ruined by your stupid thinking and driving drunk.

You maybe one of the lucky ones that this has never happened to, but one day it just may happen to you and your fun night out driving home drunk may be your last ride, unless of course you happened to be killed also and then your last ride will be in a Hearst going to your own funeral.

GET THE POINT YET? PLEASE SAVES LIVES AND DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!
