The Energy Body and The Physcial Body
Energy healing is used to treat all aspects of our energy anatomy in addition to our physical anatomy. We have all learned at least a little bit about our physical anatomy, but there is a lesser known part of our anatomy that is not as easily dissected or visible to the human eye, our energy anatomy! To use energy techniques, a basic understanding of what this anatomy is and where it is located is important. There are many ways to access the energy anatomy for improved health and wellness. We are all interacting with our energy and others energy on a daily basis. A better understanding of this can give us all more control over our overall health without the intervention of a specialist. We can maintain our energy body similar to the ways we maintain our physical body. The energy body and the physical body are not separate, they are all part of one and the same, working together just as the circulatory system works together with the skeletal system.

Our Subtle Energy Anatomy
There are three primary parts to our Energy Anatomy, the aura, chakras and meridians.
The aura is a membrane that surrounds our entire physical body, this membrane functions very much like our skin absorbing and releasing from our environment, it contains recent memory and interaction from our outside world experience, taking in and releasing energy just as our lungs take in air and release it back out in to the environment. Auras can be pictured with special photography just as we can take pictures of the heat radiated from the physical body. The aura can be one or many of the colors of the rainbow, the color, appearance and density are all indicators of our current physical health.
We have seven primary chakras. Chakras are spiralling energy vortexes identified by specific colors and located in specific regions in relation to our physical body. These vortexes contain all of our memories of all events that have ever occurred in our lives. This is where the color emanates from that is seen in the aura.
We have 11 primary meridianlines running through our bodies very similar to the primary blood veins we have running through our bodies. Our life force or life energy flows through these meridians keeping constant care of our bodily functions just as they do in our physical anatomy. Meridians can become clogged just as our arteries do and there are techniques to clear these meridians.

Energy Techniques
There are many specialist in energy healing techniques, as well as many techniques we can do ourselves. By learning these techniques we can empower ourselves, heal ourselves and maintain our own energy anatomy systems.
Donna Eden is the American pioneer of bringing some of these Eastern energy techniques to the United States and other countries, taking them out of clinics and spas and putting them into individuals hands. Here is one of her videos as she demonstrates where each of the 11 meridian lines are and how to trace and clear them as part of a daily routine. As we shower each day we are keeping our physical bodies maintained, as we trace our meridians each day we are keeping our energy meridians clean in the same manner.
For working with our aura, wave the hands in an upward motion starting at the toes and moving our arms in the upward flow moving up our physical bodies we are "fluffing" it out and clearing any places that may have been closed and are not flowing openly. We are all interactring with each others auras each and every day an exchange of energy takes place between us.
For working with the chakras, place the hand about an inch away from the body at each chakra vortex in a counter-clockwise motion clear old energies, shake off, then follow up on each chakra vortex with a clockwise motion.
Additional Energy Techniques
There are many specific energy motions done on a regular or daily basis that will keep our energy anatomy running smoothly which directly correlates with how smoothly our physical anatomy is operating.
For keeping our lungs open and clear, overcoming allergic reactions, eliminating coughing or any other type of breathing difficulties to include asthma and snoring: Close your mouth and cover one nostril, breath in and out three times through the open nostril, without taking a breath in between and without breathing through your mouth, cover the opposite nostril and breath in and through the other open nostril. This may sound very simple, but you may find it a bit difficult at first. In the beginning try 3 short breaths in and out and as you become more accustomed to it take longer more natural in and out breaths. This is best done as a preventative maintenance, however if you are having difficulties with any of these issues for instant a cough, this will alleviate it at that time. This technique is also very effective for headaches they will go away quite quickly after doing this breathing exercise.
The other technique I share with everyone on a regular basis is the "zip up". This process is done by palm facing the body.with fingers extended, either hand or both hands whichever is preferred. The hand can be touching the body or up to 6 inches away from the body. Start at the pelvic bone and keeping that hand facing the body trace up to the bottom of the lower lip. Trace three times in this manner and after the third time when you reach the lower lip do a twisting motion with the hand like you would do if you were indicating your lips were locked. The primary purpose of this is this covers the lower portion of the chakras, which represent needs, desires, power, love and communication. Leaving the two upper chakras open which are insight and inspiration. As we interact with each others energies there is always an exchange, I am sure we all have encountered someone at some times who left us "feeling drained" or someone who left us feeling "re-charged",. What this technique does is limits our energetic transactions with others to only what is for the higher good for both parties involved. This exercise can also be accomplished mentally, take a moment to "mentally" or visually in your minds eye to zip all those you are interacting with, "zip up" your children before sending them to school or day care. This keeps the energy interchange we are all experiencing out of the lower personal agendas and only into the higher agendas of inspiration and insight for the greater good of all.
