Heed the Summoning Force Within

In stillness...

Sharing another one of my greeting cards, in honor of Poetry Month. On the card, the text (in Bold below) appears in deep green, beneath the photograph.

So often we do not listen to that still, small voice within ourselves.

The world is filled with so very many noises, a seemingly endless amount of activity and myriad distractions.

It can be so hard to listen to our gut, our intuition and our inner stirrings; especially when we are surrounded and bombarded with external stimuli of every sort imaginable.

Most of my days, on the other hand, are filled with long stretches of silence. Absolute silence. But I realize for many that is nearly impossible to achieve.

This invitation is from my heart to yours. Find your safe, rejuvenating well of stillness and listen. Listen deeply for deep knowing. Heed. Realize that your comfort zone is where stagnation occurs; nothing lush grows there. We need to venture into the depths in order to find where freedom & courage live. We need to go beyond comfort, noise and distraction; beyond the seductive and false things that appear so real, and cleverly try to keep us captive.

In stillness, name the summoning force

stirring within you.

Pass beyond the elaborate, barren gate.

We think our gates are barred;

but see, it opens wide.

One of the reasons I appreciate my age now, Linda, is because I have finally found that inner voice and I listen to it constantly. It is a voice I trust now, and I follow it, and it has not let me down. Lovely work my friend.

blessings today and always,

Thank you Sir William, for your wonderful feedback. Please know that I gratefully count myself among the many who are blessed and heartened and educated and motivated by the ways you listen and share your inner voice with us through your writings.

And may God continue to abundantly bless the deep, wise, generous, tender heart from whence it comes! L.
