How Moving Can be Good for Your Health

Moving has usually been equated with stress and inconvenience, not necessarily the first thing to come to mind when you think of healthy living. It may surprise you though that moving offers several benefits for the health conscious individual. Although moving will always be a hectic undertaking, knowing that it may improve your lifestyle is a great motivator. The following are several reasons why you should view moving as less of an inconvenience and more of an opportunity.

One of the most obvious health benefits of moving is the sheer amount if physical activity it entails. Even with professional movers helping with the lifting, you may still find yourself carrying around quite a few boxes. This amount of activity burns a lot of calories and is more than enough to give you a good workout. This isn’t exactly going to replace the regular visit to the gym, but you’ll forgive yourself for not going while you’re conducting your move. Just remember to lift items properly, as the last thing you want is a back injury.

Sometimes, all one needs to feel a whole lot better is a change of surroundings, and moving is the epitome of that. It can be amazing how much a change in environment can affect a person’s health. Through the years, a lot of people have been steadily leaving the crowded confines of the city to move to rural areas with a lot more open space. The fresh air and greener surroundings are a great improvement to the claustrophobic strain of city living, and the benefits it has to one’s health can be immediately noticeable.

A lengthy commute to and from work or school is never ideal. There are only few things more stressful and tiring than getting stuck in traffic; and deciding to move closer to one’s place of work or study greatly reduces that. One of the important parts of healthy living is to ensure that you don’t constantly suffer from stress, and although moving can be stressful during the beginning, the future convenience would be worth it.

One of the common reasons people tell Durham movers on why they move is the location of better facilities, whether it be schools, parks, or hospitals. Being just a stone throw away from a gym or other public areas where one can play sports or exercise increases the chances of one actually engaging in physical activity. The closer you are to a gym, the less excuse you have to not work out, and the more likely you are to give it a try.

Moving not only helps give one the feeling of physical improvement, it can give one a sense of mental rejuvenation as well. Moving to a new location always gives the feeling of a fresh start, of something new and exciting, and this can translate to a better well being. To be healthy, one should not just be physically fit, but be mentally and spiritually fit as well.

No one can really erase the stigma of stress and urgency that moving evokes, but it’s never really as bad as you think. Looking at it from a different point of view will show you the great improvements moving can bring, not only to your circumstances, but also to your health.

Nice perspective. I always viewed moving as a hassle. But that's probably because I have yet to move out of Ohio! lol.

I believe that moving can be good for your health because it can help your mindset change about being able to accomplish things, you are more prone to being more optimistic, and you can have a new start at life, making new friends while still remaining true to yourself. really nice information that you have in your hub.Voted up.
