Personal Development: Using Positive Affirmations
We all need inspiration to help us do the things we do each day. We need to carry on and be happy about it. There are things we can do to ensure that this happens for us.Positive affirmations are things you read or say throughout the day to motivate yourself. This is a great way to improve things for yourself.
One way to pump positive thoughts into your mind throughout the day is to use all of your secret codes. Each one can be a word of two the inspires you. Think how many times a day you have to punch in a password. It happens at the bank, on your phone,on your computer, on your social media accounts,at your gym, and at your storage facility. Think how many times you could be invigorating yourself just by doing the things you normally do.
Another time you can do affirmations is in the rooms in your house where you get ready for your day. You can use little post-it notes or go for the special signs, plaques, paintings, and photographs with motivational words or sayings on them. You don't have to say these things out loud, you can just read them if you like. When you're in the shower or in the car you might want to get into the affirmations verbally. Sometimes just hearing yourself saying it makes it more real. An easy way to do this is to listen to CD's that announce the affirmation and then give a pause so you can say it yourself,
Whether you're at work or on the go you can search the net for positive affirmations for just about anything you like. There are affirmations for success, wealth, glamour, relationships, problems. Anything. You can though, make up your own to target specific needs at any particular time in your life. At one time you may need only one special afirmation. At others you may need a variety everyday.You can do things as corny as writing something in the snow outside your window when you know it will be there for a few weeks, or you can tape record a full day's worth to keep in your pocket. Some people like to decorate their indoor or outdoor gardens with beautiful polished, painted, or rustic rocks with sayings like, "Serenity," Hope," " Humor," Live," Breathe," Laugh," and "Think.
We've talked about reading, speaking, and hearing positive affirmations, but there's also a visual component too. What we see has a lot to do with what we do. Advertising researchers know children are often obese because they view too many commercials for fast food and the like. Any of us can be subject to this. That's why watching satellite TV, or DVD's is much better.When you do choose to relax and watch something it should be something that affirms what you want, or where you want to be. Who you want to be with, or what you aspire to.
