How to Become Thin, And Improve Your Health

Change Your Mind. Become Thin, and Improve Your Health

Get Your Mind Ready To Become Thin... First!

I want to start off by saying that I have been struggling with weight all of my life. I know how hard it is to lose weight, and I know the torment that it brings to your life every single day.

I just recently started to "get healthy."

And this is very important to understand. It is NOT just about losing the weight. In fact, losing the weight is just an after effect of getting your mind right.

Following the tips that I have will only speed up the "how to become thin" process. Getting healthy, and showing improvement in your health should be your # 1 priority here. I know how the overweight person struggles with their mind. It is an ongoing, seemingly never-ending torture inside your head.

Why are you overweight? You have to figure this out first. You will get yourself no where until you do anyway.

Ask yourself what it is that is causing you to over eat, and why you don't want to exercise. Is the food just too good? Are you just too hungry? Does it hurt to exercise? Is the sweating & running out of breath just too much for you?

Hey you guys- I know. I know all of the excuses, and I know them all too well.

Unless you are ready to make a mental change, you may as well stop reading right now. This is NOT about the food, and it's not about the exercise. It is about the way that you are thinking. If you feel guilty every time you eat a candy bar, or a piece of cake- rest assured it will go straight to your butt.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Secret?" While I don't totally agree with everything in that movie, ( I still think everyone should see it though,) I do believe in the law of attraction. The one quote in the movie that everyone should always try to keep in mind is, "What you think about, comes about."

If you feel guilty while you are eating a certain food, that guilt, and whatever else your subconscious is telling you, is going to undoubtedly take over your mind and body. This is so key in understanding WHY you are overweight.

I encourage everyone to do as much research as possible, on your subconscious mind. You need to know how very, very powerful it really is.

I don't want to get off track. Back to WHY you are overweight.

For me, it is most likely because I was screamed at most of my childhood. Now, let me clarify something. I have a wonderful mother who tried her best to raise 3 children, while dealing with a heap of depression. Of course raising 3 children is hard enough. Then you add depression into the mix, your kids are just a Fatty Patty's waiting to happen.

Depression affects way too many of us. And this is what I wanted to get at. WORK AT FIXING YOUR DEPRESSION FIRST, AND FOREMOST.

And no, you don't have to pay for counseling. Really fix it. It's called soul searching.

I think you will find that what you are surrounding yourself with, affects your mind in every way.

You have to start getting all of the good things that are in this world, into your head. READ READ READ! Start reading uplifting articles. Watch uplifting things on You Tube. The majority of what I'm talking about is all FREE! Google is your best friend here.

Whatever it is that you want to read about, all you have to do is GOOGLE!

When I started this journey, I was not in the mind set to lose weight. I was actually looking to "Manifest Wealth." (That is what I googled. ) Let me tell you, manifesting wealth is what I got- and I still am not rich, (by this, I mean rich with money.) I am spiritually rich though!

"The Shaya Story" Read by Wayne Dyer.

Start Out With This....

To make a really long story short, I stumbled upon the writer, Wayne Dyer. Again, although I do not agree with everything that he says, he does have a lot of truth within his teachings.

Watching this video, (which made me cry like a baby by the way,) it is really what started me into looking for more information on happiness, and health. Please take a few minutes to watch it, and really pay attention to this story. It makes you think about what is important in life. Yes we all say it, "life is too short." But really realizing it, is the key.

A really good quote, and also one of Wayne Dyer's book title's, ( and one to ALWAYS remember,) "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life."

And this has definitely proven true for me.

....I hope you already watched it. I can tell you, this really got it all started for me.

I don't really know if it was the mother in me that made this story really hit home, or if it was the fat girl in me, that made it hit home. Probably a little bit of both. At any rate, I think this video hits home for any overweight person out there.

I think deep down, we all would have liked to have had a group of people behind us, rooting us on, rather than making fun of us, or making things harder for us.

Can you imagine the difference it would have made? We might not have stayed fat for one. And for two, just the boost it would have given our self-confidence could have had amazing results!

So, I know that you came for diet tips. And I know that you want to know how to become thin, and I can help!

Just please, please, please! After you get done reading this, really start your journey into finding your happiness. It's not hard. It is all about shifting your mood, and your thoughts. There are a number of ways to think about things.

~You can find the good in everything, and then you can also find the bad. But I assure you, finding the bad will only bring you down more. No matter what happens, always find the good.

~Remember~ "What you think about, comes about." Think thin, and let go of the guilt.

When you DO eat that candy bar, (or whatever your weakness may be) and enjoy it. Now, don't eat 2 or 3 candy bars- That won't do you any good. And don't go eating them every day either, just enjoy them when you do eat them every now and then, ~Guilt Free.

I Know, I Know, You Don't Want to Excercise...But Do You Want To Be Thin? Shift Your Mood.

Let me tell you my story before you decide that exercise is not the tip you were looking for. If you read my article on Flare Leg Jeans, you will see how me putting on a pair of the right jeans, "shifted" my mood.

You are not reading something from somebody who hasn't been exactly where you are at. In fact, I was probably worse off than most people who will read this.

I gained 80 pounds while I was pregnant! And to make matters worse, I was not small to begin with. So, I know the aches and pains a big body brings you.

And I am here to tell you, if you can get your mind in the right place, exercise is the next best thing for you.

Who really wants to JUST lose weight? Don't you want a beautiful, toned body? That is not going to happen just by cutting calories. Sure, you can drop pounds. But that doesn't ensure that you will even look that much better, let alone ensure that you will be that much healthier. Now, this is what I did- and what I will recommend to anyone that wants to be thinner. (Healthier, rather.)

Find something, (in my case, it was a piece of clothing,) that makes you feel better about yourself.

What did it for me was a pair of flare leg jeans. Until a friend gave me a pair of the perfect jeans, I didn't realize that I had not been LOVING the way that I looked. I guess I didn't even realize that I could love, or even like for that matter, the way that I looked.

You will know what it is when you find it though. You put it on, and you KNOW that you look good! What a butt! Yeah, I said it. I liked how my butt looked, and it was huge!

That didn't matter though. I found something that made me look better<-----KEY. You probably don't like how you look. Find something that makes you look better. It will give you energy. You need this energy to give you the swift kick in the butt that you know you must have. Find your energy!

It doesn't matter how much it costs. Trust me on this. I know times are hard, and bills are the priority. But, sometimes you just "gotta do whatcha gotta do." Start reading some of "Wayne Dyer's" books. (The guy above who read "The Shaya Story." Or watch him on You Tube. You will find that you can bring things into your life at little or no cost anyway. (Google "Manifesting")

However, if there is no time to waste, and you want to start right now, go out and get whatever piece of clothing it is that makes you look good. Get your ENERGY!

I went to a local recreational center here, and started a step-aerobics class. Now, I have a really good friend that goes with me, and I would suggest you try to do the same thing. Having someone there to push you and support you, is my very best advice. However, I do know that not everyone is as lucky as I am, and may not have such a person. That's o.k.! You can still do it.

Have the faith in yourself to know that you are going to change your life, and your body.

Aerobic Excercise

I'm Ready!
I'm Ready!

Why NOT To Rely On Yourself To Exercise At Home....If You Really Do Want To Be Thin, Then Don't Rely On Yourself To Do It At Home, Because You Won't.

I have had amazing results from doing the step-aerobics. I am not yet down to my goal weight, although I am well on my way. And in the meantime, the compliments on my body are sometimes overwhelming. I get them all the time now!

And I also get "remarks". Oh yes, be prepared. The fat people around you get very jealous very quickly. They will say things like, "you are losing too much weight," or "you weren't even fat to begin with." Knowing darn good and well you looked like a whale.

You have to understand the psychology in this. As human beings, we have this "survivor mode" that we go into. When we see someone else succeeding at something that we are not, we automatically feel intimidated. Intimidation brings about in some people the, "need to survive." And people sometimes can't help but to try to reel you back in, into their comfort zone. You cannot let them.

One question that I get asked all the time is "why do you pay $3.00 a class when you could just buy a step and do it at home for free?" And the answer is very simple. I will not push myself to finish if I am by myself. Period.

When you are around other people succeeding (remember this?) You too will want to succeed. Period again. Even if you are struggling with the exercise while in the class, you will push your way to the end, even if all you can do is march in place. If you are in the comfort of your own home, you will sit down and give up. It's just the truth of the matter.

Up until 8 months ago, I started my own exercise routines at home at least a hundred different times in my life. Sound familiar?

And here is the kicker to all of the overweight scaredy cats out there.

Everyone in the class will support you. They will get excited every time you excel further. Don't believe me?

I challenge you to give it a try for a month. I only go 2 times a week. So, that is 8 classes. Give it a try and see the difference in your mood, in your body, and most importantly~Your Mind. And, give yourself the chance to be surprised by all of the "skinny" people that are going to be rooting you on.

I will never forget, there is a girl in my class that probably just about any girl would be jealous of. Skinny, pretty, and I guess what I would think of as "perfect." (And yes I know, no one is perfect-haha) Anyway, there is this one particular step move that I was having a heck of a time with.

It involves stepping up, and then back down, and then back up and over the step as you turn around at the same time, and then stepping back over. Whew! And I mean to tell you I looked like a clown trying to learn this. Anyway, it was a good 2 months before I got this down pat. And the first time that I did it without messing up, I heard the "perfect" girl excitedly say, "You did it!" The smile on her face was priceless to me. Here, I was so afraid of looking stupid this whole time, and feeling like everyone was waiting for me to fail, when really, they were waiting for me to succeed. I needed that support, and you do too whether you think so or not. Trust me on that, even if you trust nothing else.

And I don't mean that you should be waiting around for compliments from other people to feel good about yourself. But, the support that you will get, and you will get it- is absolutely indescribable.

Now, you may be thinking that you could never make it through a work-out. You sweat like a hog, (I do too) and you run out of breath easily (as I do that too!) And yes, I have excellent tips for that also.

Not Just Any Fish Oil. Nordic Fish Oil.

You want a good tip? Want to improve your health? Here it is. Nordic Fish Oil. You may be asking, "Is it that easy?" Yes. I would say to go to the local Dollar Store, and buy yourself a nice big bottle of Fish Oil with Omega-3. But it won't do you as much good in my opinion. Don't forget~GOOGLE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND!

Yes, you will get some positive results with even generic Fish Oils. But not enough to really make that big of a difference. Now, Fish Oil is just plain good for you, no doubt about that. But if you change any of your eating habits, or if you start to exercise to lose weight, the Nordic Fish Oil can (and most likely will) increase your weight loss by up to 50%. Now, just taking the Fish Oil, and not changing anything else in your life as far as diet and exercise go, will not make you lose weight. But! Add the Nordic Fish Oil to the plan, and again, increase your weight loss by up to 50%. So this means if by what you are doing now will lead to a ten pound weight loss, adding the Nordic could potentially make that ten pound weight loss, a fifteen pound weight loss!

Another Fun Fact: If you sweat a lot, and run out of breath easily, the Nordic Fish Oil will also help. If you get hot easily, the Fish Oil will help. I do not go to aerobics without taking the Nordic Fish Oil.

Now, I know you are probably wondering why Nordic? Nordic Fish Oil IS a little more expensive. And, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Don't waste your money on fillers- get the actual real Fish Oil. The cheap brands are exactly that-CHEAP. They don't have all of the good stuff that the Nordic has. Do your research and see what you think. I have taken both, and believe me, the Nordic makes a huge difference. The work-outs are easier, and the weight flies off. That's all there is to it.

Salad=Get Thin

Quick And Easy Diet Tips To Help You Get Thin And Improve Your Health

Now the food part. You know what to do. I don't need to tell you to eat your veggies. And if you are like me, you don't like to. I am not going to say this isn't important, because it is....BUT! What has worked for me, I believe will work for anyone.

Keep in mind, I am the Carb Queen! I love my bread and potatoes and cookies and cakes and yadda yadda. It's o.k. people! You don't have to completely stop. You just have to tweak! Tweak your eating habits slowly. Need I remind you? Slow and steady wins the race!

See? It's not that hard. O.k., so here goes.

¶Salad cleans you out. It just does. So if you want to eat the meatloaf & mashed potatoes and macaroni &cheese- go ahead. Just scoop out 1 spoonful of potatoes if you would normally scoop 2. If you would normally scoop 3, then only scoop out 2, and you get the picture. But ADD A SMALL SALAD. This works guys.

And eat the salad first. Yes, ranch is o.k. All these other articles will tell you it's a no no, and I'm here to tell you that it is o.k. Now here's the thing. Don't make a salad and load it up with cheese & croutons, and a butt-load of dressing, and then only have 2 fork fulls of lettuce. This will NOT clean you out. Have a mostly green lettuce salad, with a little cheese, and tomatoes, and some dressing. TWEAK! Eat it before the meal, and you won't want as much of the meatloaf. AND! The salad will help you digest and push out the loaf. I know that sounds gross, but it's true.

Another benefit from this is that you won't feel stuffed. Eating the small salad will fill you up quite a bit, and you won't eat as much of the heavy food. But you will get just enough to fulfill your craving.

¶Eat 2 good size salads a week for lunch, and let that be all that you have for that meal~ only on the 2 days that you pick. And yes, add some chunks of turkey, or chicken breast to help fill you up. Yes, ranch is still o.k., and have cheese too! This big salad with a good portion of meat and dressing is way better than a Big Mac for sure. 2 days a week only! This will be one of your tweaks.

¶ ADD a Vitamin B Complex supplement once a day. Being overweight, in my opinion, is a cause of some kind of depression. The Vitamin B Complex helps boost your mood, your energy, and is just good for you. Read up on it. Oh! And it's cheap too! <----Perk.

¶Apple Cider Vinegar. It would be best to get the organic apple cider vinegar. But, you can also take apple cider vinegar just like you take a vitamin supplement. This also helps with Acid Reflux. I say helps, but it actually cures, Acid Reflux.

¶Add yogurt into your diet. Yogurt also helps with your digestive tract. It will help get that bad stuff out of you also. Another good thing about yogurt is that if you have any type of yeast infection, (and most of you carb eaters do,) and you don't even know it, the yogurt helps with this. You know that tired depressed feeling you get when you are done eating a carb-filled meal? Yeast is the culprit. You have to try to get it under control. So, if you are not ready to give up the carbs, (and I'm not either,) add yogurt. If you are not a big yogurt fan, then try Yoplait Whips. This is yogurt, but it tastes more like a mousse. They have chocolate, orange, raspberry and other flavors too. A friend of mine absolutely hates yogurt, but loves the Yoplait Whips. In my opinion, it's more like a dessert.

¶Remember, TWEAK! I know you may like to eat sweets as a snack, as I do too! Especially at work, I'm a sweet-aholic. So, a few times a week, replace the danish or candy bar with red grapes. Still eat the junk here and there, especially when you are first starting. You will be more likely to stick to better eating habits if you don't cut all of the junk out at once. Trust me on this. We go on these diets where we try to go cold turkey on the foods we love. Don't do it! Biggest mistake ever. You get mad at yourself and end up quitting when you cheat a little bit. So don't consider it cheating! I t's o.k. to have that Butterfinger. Do this though~Don't eat the last bite! Have you ever seen that commercial on T.V.? The one that shows you how much food you wouldn't consume in a month, if you left just one bite from every meal. It is true.

¶Leave one bite from every meal untouched. If you normally consume everything on your plate, leave just one bite. If you don't always eat every single bite, then stop one bite before you normally would. This, as easy as it sounds, can be very difficult. It is yet another habit that we have. Most of us learned from our parents to "clean our plate." Oh, and by the way, while we are at this, do not do this to your children!

◊Yes, there starving children all around the world that would love to have the food that we waste. But would you rather have the food wasted in the trash, or wasting away your life? Because when we become overweight, and depressed, that is exactly what we are doing~wasting away. Please, please, this is something that we have got to stop doing. I stand very firm on this. Children know when they are full! It is not o.k. for us to tell them to finish every bite. Very seldom do I make my son eat. He always lets me know when he is hungry, and he stops eating when he is full, end of story.

And for the record, children don't eat as much in the summertime. It is hot, and they are not as hungry. This one tip here, could quite possibly solve most childhood obesity.

I do believe that children should get on the same eating schedule as us. I am not saying that if they are not hungry at dinnertime, that you should be making them a completely different meal 2 hours later. They will naturally be hungry at dinnertime, as we are every night ourselves, if they have a routine. So the best thing to do is to let them know- if they don't eat dinner with the family, then they won't eat. And this is not cruel. It should be the routine, and children need routine. They just don't need to be stuffed full every time they eat, like most of us have been taught to do.

¶One last tip from me. Sometimes, when we have gotten to a certain point with our weight, such as being morbidly obese, I do believe (and this is just my opinion) that because of all of the extra weight, we could use a little help with our energy. Not everyone will agree with me on this, but it IS something that helped me to get started also on the exercise. I still maintain that you must get your mind right FIRST! And you must be ready to make the mental change. However, I did talk to my doctor before hand, and he gave me a medication called Phentermine.

Now, you would have to get the prescription from a doctor, and make sure that this is right for you. The medication is in the amphetamine family of drugs. This means that it CAN BE addictive.

If used properly though, and for a short period of time, it can give you the boost you need to get going. And sometimes I think that we just need a boost in order to get going. Again though, it is by prescription only, and if you have a heart condition, it is not for you. It speeds up your heart rate, and you don't want to even consider this if you already have a problem with your heart.

Well, that about wraps it up. Tweak! Start slow, add exercise- and don't be afraid to start an exercise group. And most importantly, get your mind right!

There is a saying I once heard that really made me think twice, " You have to hate being fat, more than you love food." And if you are overweight, you know how hard this can be to achieve. But you can achieve it!

Remember also, that most of the time, it is not that you are really hungry for food, you are just hungry for comfort . Figure out why this is. Did you not get the attention as a child that one should get, or did you get a lot of negative attention? Deal with these feelings, and learn to recognize the difference between the hungers. Completing a rigorous exercise routine is way more comfort than a doughnut. You just have to get there. I did it, and if I did, TRUST ME, so can you.

OH! And one last thing! When you are feeling down, please feel free to come back here and read this again. It is my true story, and it can lift you up, if you let it.

Watch "The Shaya Story" over and over. And don't forget to find God's perfection in everyone and everything. It is always there, sometimes you just have to do a little digging.

Good-Luck!

You are absolutely right. A lot of the problems caused by over-eating are in the mind. You've offered a lot of good tips. I too find yoghurt really good for dieting. There are all different sorts out there, and some of them are really creamy and delicious as well as being healthy. I eat Jaffa cakes too when I'm craving for something sweet. Each cake only has only 1 gram of fat. I could eat the whole packet at one sitting if I wanted to without ruining my diet.
