How to Improve and Slow Stomach Digestion to Increase Fat Burning

There are several natural ways you can improve stomach digestion, which will have the added benefit of weight loss. Many people are struggling to reach their ideal weight. Most have only temporary success and eventually end up with more weight than they started their diet. The problem is that many of the foods eaten in the western diet will continually decrease the bodies ability to efficiently burn fat. A diet high in hydrogenated fats and oils, refined white sugar and white flour, diet food products, and exposure to any of the 14,000 food chemicals within American processed foods and medications and low fiber intake all lead to a sluggish and inefficient fat burning system. The good news is that it is possible with change of diet to eventually restore the body to maximum fat burning capability.

There are numerous substances today that do not help stomach digestion. The food additives, alcohol, caffeine, herbicides, pesticides, and household chemicals all have something in common. Each must be made harmless by the body’s detoxification system in order for you to stay lean and healthy. The thousands of toxins that overwhelm our detoxification system also increase our susceptibility to disease and slow metabolism. So these toxins not only make us sick, they may also make us fat!

Researchers from the Occupational and Environmental Health Research Group at Stirling University in Scotland developed a hypothesis saying there is evidence indicating that the body’s metabolism does not function properly in those suffering from obesity. Researchers went on to say that the current level of human exposure to synthetic organic and inorganic chemicals might be responsible for damaging many of the body’s natural weight-control mechanisms.

Other research conducted by Dr. Theo Colborn at the University of Florida in Gainesville has revealed a direct correlation between environmental chemicals and their adverse effects on our hormonal systems. Many chemicals have a xenoestrogenic effect due to their estrogen-mimicking activity inside the body. These chemicals can easily create an enhanced environment for our bodies to store fat, all the while making it difficult to lose it.

The liver is our greatest fat burning organ as long as it is running at maximum capacity and isn’t overloaded with toxins. Research published in the International Journal of Obesity indicates that liver toxicity can often lead to excess body fat accumulation. Moderately obese people frequently suffer from liver dysfunction.

Cleansing your body will help restore the body's balance, eliminate the waste building up and make our systems run much more efficiently. During autopsies, coroners often find colons that are more than 75% clogged with waste matter. The walls of the colon are intended to absorb nutrients but low fiber, high fat, high sugar foods create a build up on the colon walls inhibiting proper nutrient absorption resulting in weight gain. This causes the systems that clean our blood and intestinal tracts to back up. Symptoms of fatigue and irritability begin to develop. Health issues often follow.

Thanks for your comment quicksand! No, brown sugar is no better. It goes through the same stripping process and is void of nutrients and fiber. Cane juice crystals are the way to go.

I love your hub, I'm currently on a no processed food diet due to health reasons I have to eat healthy food. I just had a question for you, is sugar (in moderation) really that bad for you?

Thanks for your comment sceptic! Processed sugar is bad for you because it impacts your blood sugar negartively, which is bad for weight control and for your health. A healthy sugar you might want to try is cane juice crystals. You can get them online or at many health markets. Another option is stevia which is not only good for your health but has no calories and it tastes great.

Have you ever heard that if you clog your digestion with meats cheeses and other sticky foods that this will create a craveing for sugar because the pancreas is so clogged it cant produce gugogan or insulin and the cravings begin.
